I had a call from an unknown number a moment ago, but they ended it straight away.

These lot are sneaking money straight out of my bank with Direct Debit, making my phone bill skyrocket all under the guise of charity. Totally a rip-off! Seems it’s linked to some dodgy property sales scheme or sommat.

I found out this number is used for charity donations, mainly through texts. Just a heads up, if you leave a voicemail, you probably won't get a callback since they dont respond to messages.

At the end of the month, my phone bill comes out way higher than I expect because they keep deducting money from my mobile account.

i ended up with two separate texts charges of £50 each on my bill, so I rang my mobile network who passed me a number but it just went straight to voicemail. Then I checked another site and saw that a Virgin Media user was advised to text "stop" to 88228. Has anyone tried that and did it actually block the messages?

My daughter got a text from this number and it ended up costing her £8.30 just to get the message. When she called back, there was just an answerphone - clearly some sort of scam. I don't understand why laws haven't been updated to prevent things like this. It feels like they're stealing from people on a massive scale.

I got calls from this number which turns out to be from some dodgy scam outfit pretending to be Mobile 7. They show up in your texts as 700034231 and claim you’ve got premium texts, which you never actually get or agreed to. Virgin Mobile told me this when I asked about the extra charges on my last couple of bills. They told me to text STOP ALL to 88228 to stop those sneaky £1.50 premium text fees from stacking up on my phone bill.
