I received a call from a chap purporting to be from Microsoft, but I ended the conversation quite promptly. I recognised that voice all too well, as it’s one I've encountered several times before, albeit from various phone numbers.

I picked up the phone, but the call disconnected just as I said ‘hello’. I’m all set with my air horn for the next time one of those pesky scammers rings me-can’t wait to give them a real fright!

I received a call from an Indian woman purporting to be from BT. She mentioned something about providing me with a quote for my account number. When I requested the wireless password for my router, she abruptly hung up. Well, that’s a red flag, isn’t it?
