Received a ring from 02077233257 earlier today. "Hello?" (There was a bit of a pause, followed by an accent that was quite distinctly Asian.) "Could I have a word with John Smith, please?" I was taken aback for a moment, absolutely bemused by the sheer naivety of the request-I mean, there’s no 'Smith' residing here! "No! You absolutely can’t! Now do one and don’t bother me again!" This has become my go-to reply for these persistent nuisance calls. Once upon a time, I tried to handle it with politeness, then moved to a more assertive tone, but now I unleash a bit of cheek! Honestly though, it’s the dead of night where that call came from! What on earth is the caller doing? Shouldn’t they be fast asleep, or perhaps engaged in some other leisurely pursuit, rather than bothering me? It’s utterly ridiculous!

I received a call from a number I didn't recognise, so I opted not to pick up. However, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to look it up online to find out who it belonged to.

Oh look, it’s another market research firm being a right bother! Can’t these folks take a hint and leave us be?

I received a call where they inquired if I was the primary user of my computer. I didn’t divulge any personal details like my name or such - seemed rather suspicious, possibly a ploy for fishing or marketing?

An individual from Asia who works in tech mentioned that there's an issue with my Windows machine, but honestly, it’s not too concerning since I’m primarily using Ubuntu.

I received a call today from an individual claiming there’s an issue with our computer system. But honestly, how on earth would he have any inkling about that?
