Picked up the phone and there was a long silence before someone asked if they were speaking to me by name. I asked who it was, but they wouldn’t say. I told them straight up to quit calling me and to take my details off their list, as I’m not wasting time guessing who it might be. Also warned them I’d report them to Ofcom if they bother me again.

As soon as I answered with a "hello?", they just cut off. I could catch voices in the background though. Needless to say, I blocked the number straight away.

I picked up a call from this number, only for them to drop the line straight away. Afterwards, my iPhone went into lockdown mode for five minutes! I had to make multiple attempts and even had to power it off before I could use it again. I'm quite puzzled about what might be happening here.
