What’s the reason behind this call to me?

I got a call from this number but didn’t pick up as it looked dodgy. Later, I rang it back and ended up speaking to American Airlines about an email I’d sent about a booking. It seemed legit because the details they provided helped me log into my account and fix the problem.

I got a call from a recorded voice saying I’m being looked into for some criminal fraud stuff. It told me to press 1 if I wanted more details. Don’t press anything, just end the call straight away. They tried the same scam on me a couple of months back too.
