I got a call from someone claiming I owed money to HMRC and if I didn’t pay up, they’d freeze all my assets. I just made up a name and threw out some random last four digits of my NI number, and the bloke clearly had no idea what was going on. When I asked who at HMRC had passed on my contact info, he instantly hung up. Don’t fall for it!

I got a call from this market research firm from London. They start by mentioning a major company you might know or work with, then hit you with a bunch of in-depth questions about your business. Quite thorough, really.
