I occasionally get bombarded with four or five calls in a single day. It’s baffling how no one ever says a word before the line disconnects. What a complete waste of time and taxpayer money - you’d think they’d implement some sort of filter for this nonsense!

Had quite a few missed calls lately, so I’d suggest getting a BT8500 or a similar model. It lets you see who’s calling and if it’s a pest, you can block the number easily. Just make sure you have caller ID from your phone company first. Since I got one, it’s been loads better because the blocked numbers don’t ring through anymore.

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent asking me to verify my name and address. When I looked up the number, I saw loads of different companies linked to it, so I rang Legal & General directly to double-check.
