Received a rather dubious call from this number, claiming to be associated with 'Call Protect.' It was a chap with a foreign accent, and as soon as he began prattling on about my card details, I realised it was a scam. I've promptly blocked the number! Best to be cautious out there!

I received a call from this number earlier. When I picked up, I could hear a phone ringing in the background, and then someone finally answered with a simple "hello." I didn't stick around for a chat; I hung up straight away since it reeked of a scam to me.

I got a call from a bloke who wanted to talk to Mr (he somehow knew my name). I didn’t say anything to confirm, instead asked who he was and what he was ringing about. He said his name was Dave, with an asian accent, and claimed he was from "Benefits 4 You". He asked again if he was speaking with Mr but I didn’t confirm and kept asking what the call was about. Then he just hung up with a bit of an annoyed tone. I’ve blocked the number now.

For the past week, this number keeps ringing my phone at exactly 7.57am every day. I usually just let it ring since I get loads of spam calls, but today I picked up. A lady with a foreign accent claimed my internet was being hacked and tried to get my info. I told her I don’t even use the internet, then she hung up right away. Had a silent call ring through earlier, so I looked up the number here and decided to block it. If you use BT, they have this free thing called CALL PROTECT which is brilliant. It not only blocks dodgy numbers they spot but also lets you block any calls like the ones people talk about on this site. I've been using it since last year and honestly, the amount of scam calls I get has dropped a lot. Proper easy to set up too!

I received a call from this number too, a man was insisting on speaking to me but I wasn’t home at the time. He ended up shouting and being really rude to my elderly mum. I’ve tried ringing back now but no one’s picking up.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Benefits Direct. Since I'd been getting multiple calls a day, I asked to talk to a manager. The guy said the supervisor was on a break and told me to just answer his questions while I waited. When I refused, he tried to strike a deal that if I answered, they’d stop calling me. I told him I was fed up with the constant ringing. Then he threatened me, saying he’d keep my number on file to call me daily and implied things might get worse if I didn’t cooperate.

I simply laughed it off and ended the call on that numpty. Interestingly, this number has also called before, posing as representatives from Benefits Direct. Quite the drawn-out scam, isn't it?

They’re either pushing stuff you clearly don’t want or need or worse, trying to con folks into giving away their bank info. She said she just needed to ask some easy questions, so I figured I'd play along to see what was going on. Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from Benefits Direct, one of the biggest firms in the UK. He wanted to ask me a few questions. When I probed what their line of work was, he just said “database management.” Then when I asked what sort of data they handled, he ended the call right away! Rude as anything!
