Got a call from a woman claiming she was ringing from Birmingham Crown Court, telling me HMRC were involved and that I was being prosecuted. When I pointed out the number didn’t seem right, she quickly changed it. I’m still looking into it, but a mate told me she had almost the exact same scam phone call not long ago. Marked it as suspicious because when you get a call like that out of nowhere, it can sound quite convincing. There were a few little things she said that didn’t add up, which made me think it was definitely some sort of scam.
