We nearly went arse over tit racing down the stairs to answer the phone, as we were awaiting a vital call. Alas, what greeted us was nothing but dead air before the line cut off. A quick 1471 revealed the number: 02075618200. I'm genuinely mulling over the purchase of a TrueCall device, as the incessant barrage of nuisance calls we've been getting at all hours is becoming utterly maddening!

We received a phone call recently and decided to reach out to BT for clarification. They informed us that the call was from a marketing agency utilising automated numbers. If you ring 08450700707, you'll connect with a service operated by the government in partnership with BT, and they'll willingly assist in removing your number from every database, without any charge.

I received a call from this number and tried returning the call, but all I got was a constant engaged tone as if the line is dead. Does anyone have any information on this?

We're keen to find out who's been calling our former director's number!

We were told during the initial call that these individuals were conducting a survey for the government. But then, during the second call it seemed to be broadband companies? Quite peculiar, to say the least! They were exceedingly pushy and rather impolite too. If they decide to ring again, we’re simply going to leave the phone off the hook until they hang up, as it really seems like some sort of scam. When we tried to return the call, we just got an unobtainable tone. Quite suspicious, isn’t it?

I'm having the same trouble with this number. The automated system indicates they've been ringing about five times a day, yet they never leave a message. To make matters worse, there's no way to call them back. Quite frustrating, isn't it?

We were contacted by Olivia from SDS International, and it turns out this was some sort of survey focusing on "communication." Quite puzzling, considering our phone number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service and is also ex-directory! It’s rather frustrating, especially since we’ve been bombarded with calls for weeks from 0207 561 8270. Would it be too much to ask to just leave us in peace already?

I've accumulated four of these calls so far. Every time I pick up, it’s just silence on the other end. It’s becoming quite annoying, to be honest!

We've been receiving calls from this number almost every evening for the past four days. I answered once, and the caller claimed it was part of a survey. I told them we weren't interested and asked how they managed to get our number since it's not listed. They said it was randomly generated by their system. Just like others have mentioned, whenever you try to return the call, you get that annoying engaged tone. It's beyond frustrating! Now we just leave our answering machine on.

I haven't had any communication with this person since our last interaction on the site. Fingers crossed this isn't a recurring event - I'd rather not receive calls from these folks again! I’m seriously considering reporting them to BT. I still need to go over our phone bill, but I'm a bit worried that the person who answered the call may end up with an unexpected, hefty charge.

Had a second call this evening, but when I mentioned the first one, they told me to involve the police. Quite shrewd, wouldn't you say?

Received a couple of silent calls with no one on the other end. Not quite sure who's making these calls, though.

We recently received a call from this number. A woman with a distinctly foreign accent introduced herself as being affiliated with ITT Communications and mentioned she was conducting a survey, asking if we could spare a moment to answer a few questions. Naturally, we inquired how she had gotten our number, as we’re on the ex-directory list. She informed us it was a random number generated by their system. Not entirely convinced, we decided to hang up. When we attempted to return the call, we discovered the number was unreachable. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
