8 yearsI received a call from a gentleman who had a distinctly Chinese accent at 13:21 on 23rd February 2018. At first, the line was utterly quiet, but eventually, he introduced himself with a rather odd cheer, saying, “Good afternoon, Sir, this is BT Openreach calling, how are you today?” I promptly corrected him, stating, “Actually, I’m a woman, not a man.” His response was baffling: “Ah, my apologies! But your wife is a man, your wife is a man!” And with that, he abruptly disconnected.
