Today, I received a rather harrowing phone call from an extremely hostile chap posing as an HMRC official. He launched into a tirade about an alleged arrest warrant for tax evasion, insisting that I’d find myself behind bars if I didn’t hand over my money immediately. Thankfully, my husband was there to witness the whole debacle; he recognised the con artist for what he was and swiftly snatched the phone away from me before hanging up. I was utterly shaken!
