I found myself saying "hello" three or four times before a human finally picked up the phone. It was quite the wait! They rang me to mention that I had entered a competition for Empire Magazine, and apparently, I’m still in the running to bag a prize in a few weeks’ time. Then, they cheekily requested my surname! It turns out he was trying to get me to subscribe to a deal for three copies of Empire Magazine for just a quid. Following that, I would have the option to cancel the subscription. Quite straightforward, really. I thought, why not? I signed up since the magazines would be arriving at my door, and I plan to cancel as soon as I receive the first one. The chap on the line was quite articulate and very courteous, I must say!
