It calls at about the same time every month and leaves the same creepy voicemail. If it’s actually the council with an issue, why wouldn’t they just email me instead? Seems a bit dodgy to me.

They asked me several questions, which aroused my suspicion. To verify their legitimacy, I decided to search for information about them online while still on the call. Realizing the situation may not be genuine, I asked them to send me an email instead of providing them with my email address.

It is evident that this is an obvious scam. I received a similar message, however, Islington does not communicate regarding Council Tax matters through text messages. As soon as I received the text at 17:09, I immediately contacted the switchboard at Islington, but unfortunately, they had closed for the day at 17:00. I have blocked the number and sincerely hope that 'Rione' will be apprehended, regardless of who catches them.
