Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent asking if I was Ann Scott. I just said yes to see what would happen. She then went on with, "Good evening Madamn, how are you today?" Well, it's afternoon, not evening, and honestly it'd be better if you all stopped ringing us so much. Told her to jog on in not-so-polite terms and hung up. Blocked the number straight away. These scammers are the worst. When you’re dealing with serious health issues like me and my partner, every call matters and could be about important medical stuff. Just leave us alone, you lot, it’s not funny at all.

Got another dead silence call from this number today, it’s happened a few times over the last few days. I’ve put the number on my block list now since it’s so close to a mate’s number, and I keep answering by mistake. Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Grant and he was from "Lifestyle Questions". I told him straight away I don’t do phone surveys. He kept insisting it’d only take a minute and was just about my home, nothing personal. I repeated that I don’t do phone questionnaires. He said sorry and ended the call. Checking past reports for this number, it seems like it’s just a new trick from the same scammer!

This number has called me twice already this year, first time was just yesterday, which I mentioned in my earlier comment here. Today, they hung up straight away without waiting for my answerphone to pick up. It’s really disappointing that the people running these scams can’t put their efforts into earning money properly instead of trying to trick or rob folks out of their hard-earned pounds.

The first call I got this year was one of those silent hang-ups - no sound at all - so there was no way I could answer or interact with whoever was calling. These calls are usually suspicious because if you try ringing back, you might end up connected to an expensive premium line or even a number abroad. I always avoid calling back unknown or silent numbers for this exact reason. Instead, I let my answerphone do the work. Legitimate callers never mind leaving a message, so I just ignore anything that doesn’t leave one. It’s a safe way to avoid falling into any dodgy traps.

Got two calls this morning, one at 8:35 and another at 10:55, both silent and with the number blocked. Then this number rings at 11:20, again no sound on the line. Bet you the usual fake TPS calls are just around the corner now. They always say they’re cracking down on these nuisance calls, but it’s clear they’re the ones behind them. Honestly, 2019 should’ve been the year the government actually did something about cold calling, properly tracked these crooks and slapped them with serious penalties.
