I had never come across them before, until a mate of mine gifted me a voucher for a makeover session. Naturally, the first thing I did was have a gander at their website to suss out what they offered and I was quite taken aback by the affordability of their packages. While they do have some premium options that throw in a boatload of photos, most of their offerings hover around the £50 mark per session, and I received an even heftier discount when I booked multiple deals. Honestly, my expectations were low considering the price, so you can imagine my delight in discovering just how much value I received for my money. Having tested a myriad of hair salons locally, none could compare to what I found at Makeover Studios. I’ll definitely be returning for my hair treatments there. I had no idea they were affiliated with Burlingtons, which is known far and wide for their stellar hairdressing credentials. The makeup application was equally impressive; the MAC consultant, Jenaid, exclusively used MAC products-my absolute fave-and shared plenty of helpful tips tailored to my skin tone. The look was somewhat more theatrical than my usual day-to-day makeup, but they clarified that it had to be bolder because of the bright lights of the camera, which could wash out the colours, leaving you looking rather pale in photos. I really didn’t want to wash it all off once I left, so they helped tone it down for a more subdued look. When I got home, my husband snapped a plethora of extra photographs for me to practise recreating that fabulous look, aided by the pictures and the handy chart they provided. The package includes one complimentary shot, with additional ones starting at fifty pounds and climbing to two hundred and fifty, based on your chosen dimensions. There’s also a surcharge for retouching, but thankfully, they avoid any high-pressure sales tactics, which is a relief, as I struggle to say no when under duress. To be honest, the quality of the photos speaks for itself. I’m really grateful for the chance to partake in this experience and absolutely plan on returning in the future. A highly recommended venture for a unique outing-definitely worth every penny!

I must say, participating in my first makeover and photo shoot at Makeover Studios was a delightful experience. It truly was a blast! I was a tad apprehensive about the whole affair, nearly backed out when it was time to step inside. However, the moment I crossed the threshold, I immediately felt enveloped in warmth and welcome. It’s been ages since I’ve been treated with such kindness! Now, let’s talk about the team at New ID - they are simply brilliant! I opted for the Deluxe makeover package, which entailed having my hair washed, cut, dried, and styled. I adored the way they managed my hair; the wash felt more like a luxurious head massage than a mere cleanse! The products they used were remarkable, leaving my hair not only silky smooth but also full of life. As for the haircut - I’m still in love with it, and I can happily report that it still looks fantastic days later. Their makeup artistry was impressive as well, though I’m not sure I could achieve that same effect myself; nor am I certain I’d want to apply that much. But oh, it looked so glamorous on! I had the most enjoyable time during the photoshoot, which I initially feared. Thankfully, the photographer was incredibly kind and truly made me feel at ease. Choosing my favourite photos was quite the challenge, as they were all stunning! Eventually, I managed to narrow it down to five, and I was thrilled to receive an extra one at no charge. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Makeover Studios and would be more than willing to revisit for another four-hour session in a heartbeat. Regarding the artwork, sure, it’s a bit pricey, but what do you expect? Professional quality doesn’t come cheap - are you hoping to pay a fiver? You might as well hop over to Boots! If you do receive a call from this company, prepare for a wonderful day that’s undoubtedly worth splurging on some artwork. Otherwise, you might as well spend a day at the fair, stare at the rides, and jog back home; it's much the same!
