WATCH OUT SCAM ALERT!!! 02073526848 - BEST TO IGNORE OR BLOCK IF YOU CAN. This number rang me twice today. Had a moment to spare, so I stayed on the line trying to stop them scamming anyone else! A lady with a foreign accent called, said her name was Ann and claimed she’s from something like “Windows City.” She told me I had a virus on my computer and offered to fix it - total scam, don’t fall for it! This is the classic Microsoft scam (not sure if others are doing it too). They ring you up saying there’s some tech issue that needs fixing, get you to install a program so they can remotely control your PC, then nick any info they want to scam you. I’ve heard these sorts of calls have been reported to Action Fraud already.

Got a call from some scammer pretending to be from a landline. The classic "your computer has a virus" trick. His English was terrible and he claimed my Windows were messed up. When I asked which computer he meant, he just started swearing at me and slammed the phone down. Clearly not very bright. - caller: computer virus scammer
