They kept messing up my name because they were pronouncing it straight from pinyin. Told me some paperwork came from the Chinese police about a fraudster using my name for a bank card, and they wanted me to visit the Chinese embassy to sort it out. When I asked for the embassy’s postcode, they looked clueless like they had no idea what a ‘postcode’ meant. Their English was awful. Also, the date they gave me for when the “bank card” was registered didn’t even match between two different scammers. I just laughed it off and blocked them right away.

Not long ago, I got scammed and hacked by some folks in Nigeria, and the police are looking into it now. Dont pick up this call. The number looks like it’s from the Chinese consulate, but it’s actually a spoofed number trying to scam you into sharing personal info. They attempted to fool me into believing I was linked to some ID theft issue. I called the number back by manually entering it, and got through to the legit Chinese consulate. 020 7299 4049 called me but I didnt answer, so I listened to the voicemail and it was one of those robot voice messages claiming I had some urgent paperwork from the Chinese embassy, asked me to press 1 or something. Heard about this kinda scam before, guess I finally got caught up in it!

There has been a recent fraudulent phone call scheme that specifically targets Chinese students studying in the UK. Scammers pose as representatives from the Chinese embassy and falsely claim that the students are facing serious trouble. They then demand a deposit in order to supposedly resolve the issue. It is advised to firmly refuse their demands and block the number, ensuring it is placed on a blacklist.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from the Chinese embassy, saying I had some important document. When I pressed 1, it connected me to a bloke who just asked, "How can I help you?" I said, "Weren't you the one who called me?" and then he just hung up.

Hey, I received a call from 0203 755 2651 telling me I needed to pick up some important papers from the Chinese embassy. I pressed 1 to be connected, then a bloke offered to check my status. I said I’d call them back, and he gave me another number, 0207 299 4049, to ring. Seems dodgy to me so I looked up the number and found this site.

I've been dodging this number for ages, but decided to pick up this time and see what it's about. The first call was from another number with a recorded message saying I had an important paper waiting at the Chinese embassy and to press 6 for more info. Just for laughs, I pressed 6 to see what happens. It said I was being transferred, so I ended the call. Less than two seconds after I hang up, I get another call from a guy speaking Chinese, saying "Ni hao." I just kept replying with "hello" in English. Guess he didn’t understand, cos he quickly hung up. Funny stuff!

This number keeps phoning me and it seems to be from China, but I'm getting calls from it on loads of different mobiles, so blocking it doesn't really do any good.

Had calls from different numbers popping up twice a day. Total scam for sure and I can't speak a word of Mandarin, so why on earth are they bothering me?
