I received a rather unsolicited call from a spread betting company. We've never held an account with them, and frankly, I’m baffled as to how they got our number. We didn’t respond initially but decided to call them back just to figure out who was on the other end. According to their website, "At Central Markets, I provide traditional stockbroking services, including guidance on purchasing and selling individual stocks, as well as trading through CFDs and spread betting." It's worth noting that they are registered with the FSA, but still, it was quite a surprise to get such an unexpected cold call.
