I couldn’t shake the feeling that it might be some sort of advertising ploy, so I confronted her about it. She insisted she wasn’t trying to sell anything and suggested that I give her a ring back. However, I thought better of it, as I sensed it would lead nowhere. She introduced herself as Mrs Parker, but upon investigating the number later, it turns out my instincts were spot on. Just goes to show, trust your gut!
