12 yearsSome bloke called himself Dave claiming to be from some IT department (didn’t catch which company though). He said he had some important info about my computer, but when I told him I don’t even have one, he got all flustered and didn’t really know what to say. Then he just said goodbye and hung up. Pretty sure it was just some scammer trying to get into my system.DaveI. T.12 yearsI picked up the phone but there was no one speaking on the other side. Tried calling the number back and it said the number couldn’t be found.12 yearsI got a call from someone saying there might be issues with my computer, asking who'd been using it. I just said my system's fine and ended the call.12 yearsThese lot called me out of the blue, saying their “system” had spotted a nasty file I’d accidentally downloaded. They tried to convince me they were doing me a favour by helping fix it. They had me open some random Windows error messages, which, honestly, looked like gobbledygook to me. Then they suggested connecting to my computer remotely through their “tech team”. I didn’t let it get that far, but I reckon the plan was to mess with my computer settings somehow and then demand a hefty fee to sort it out. When I told them to take me off their call list, they flat out refused and even when I asked for their manager, the answer was still no. It feels like a blatant disregard for my rights as a customer. This company really ought to be made to follow the rules, or better yet, shut down for their dodgy behaviour.12 yearsSomebody called asking if I was the primary user of my home computer because apparently there might be issues with it. I told them everything was alright with the computer and then ended the call.12 yearsSome bloke rang up saying it was about my computer. After a bit of a mouthful from him, he just ended the call on me...12 yearsJust got a call from this number claiming there was an issue with my computer. When I asked how they got my number, they said it was from when I bought the computer. I told them I’d changed my landline after moving and my phone had been stolen, so my numbers were different now. He said he’d have to look up his records and then just hung up on me. The longer I stalled and refused to give any details, the more annoyed he sounded, talking faster and getting really snappy. Luckily, I’d just had Microsoft sort out my computer last week, and it was me who reached out to them, not the other way around.Microsoft12 yearsThis number just won't stop ringing me up no matter how many times I tell them to leave me alone.
