Answered this phone call without thinking and there was a woman with an Indian accent on the line. I also heard someone else in the background, same accent, saying they weren’t scammers, which set my alarm bells ringing straight away. Quickly realised it was dodgy, so I cut the call off straight away. Blocked the number and reported it right after.

The National Cyber Security Centre’s website is packed with loads more useful advice on how to deal with a variety of scams than the police’s Action Fraud portal. It’s a bit tricky to locate, especially if you’re using a phone, but if you start from the NCSC homepage, look for the PHISHING area. Inside there’s a subsection that guides you on reporting dodgy emails, texts and phone calls.
