It's alright to pick up the phone for this one; it’s from GLD. Just to back that up, here’s a link you might find useful:

I got a missed call from +442039914132 and when I rang back, some bloke claimed to be from HMRC, threatening me with legal trouble and asking for my personal info. I told him straight up he was a scammer and refused to share anything, saying I'd report the number instead. Then, they phoned back from a different number, +44207210300, speaking in a really pushy way, insisting they’d take legal action. Lucky for me, I'm a solicitor, but honestly, these numbers ought to be checked out by the authorities.

I got a call from some bloke called Sam Parker, claiming I was owed tax money because someone had used my name fraudulently and then said I owed £1400! I just kept him on the line for half an hour, chatting away, then said I was getting bored and ended the call. The number had a 020 code, and he mentioned a website which turned out to be totally made up.

This number scammed me, so I wouldn’t suggest answering it. They threatened me with arrest but it’s all rubbish. Honestly, I felt so taken advantage of. Just be careful!

Got a call from 02072103000030620043794.0 claiming to be from HMRC, saying I had a warrant out for my arrest and needed to cough up £3,400 to some sort of flalusort code 040026 and account 6449944. Something felt off though, especially since all the callers sounded Asian, but then one suddenly had a Jamaican accent? That’s when I started to doubt it was legit. Glad I didn’t fall for it!

I was nearly conned out of £3400 earlier today. A woman with an Asian accent rang me claiming there was a warrant out for my arrest. She refused to let me put her on hold when I asked to check with someone else, which made me very wary. So, I asked my son to look up the number 02072103000 online, and he came across this forum. Really grateful to everyone who’s shared their experiences here!

Around 9:20 this morning, i received a call from someone saying they were from “HMRC”. They said i owed £1200 and if I didn't pay, i'd be arrested for five years and my passport would be taken off me. The bloke called himself Mike Foster and even gave a reference and a batch number. We don’t normally pick up calls from numbers we don’t know but this one sounded convincing. Plus, this person has come around my house a few times now which made it feel more legit.

Yesterday, I got a call from a man with an Asian accent saying I owed like £4400 in back taxes. He somehow knew my full name and where I work, then threatened I'd be arrested by the police if I didn’t pay two separate sums. Since I’m Romanian, I felt really scared and ended up sending off a payment of £1990. It was only when some coworkers warned me that I realised it was a scam - I might've paid the whole sum if they hadn’t stepped in. Please, don’t make the same error - just hang up right away!

I got scammed by a guy claiming to be from the HM Revenue using this number. He also rang me from 02072004188. Said his name was Louis, sounded English but it didn’t feel right. He told me I owed £1400 and threatened with jail if I didn’t pay. Later, I got a message on WhatsApp from 07766682156 too. Proper dodgy, be careful!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, a woman with an Asian accent said I was being investigated for owing £3500 due to some wrongly filed accounts. I looked up both numbers online, and one did link to an official government site. But weirdly, as soon as I asked questions, they just dropped the call on me.

im pretty sure this is a scam call. be careful and keep an eye out for typical red flags like someone with an english name but a foreign accent, maybe an asian bloke, trying to pitch you some deal or pretend they’re calling from a uk firm or hmre or an accident insurance company. honestly, be suspicious about anything weird like that. the biggest giveaway is if they try to get you to pay something right away over the phone - never do that!

this call was just awful. anyone who’s vulnerable might be terrified hearing they’ll get arrested for tax fraud if they don’t hit one. really hope the cops see these posts and take action against whoever is behind these dodgy numbers. it’s properly despicable!

Part 2 of the Sam Parker HMRC scam: I stayed on the phone with him and dialed the number he provided. When I asked him to verify which department he was from, he got all confused. Eventually, he gave me the number 0300 200 0484, claiming that ringing that would prove they were genuine.

part 3 of the sam parker HMRC scam: the guy on the phone spoke with an asian accent and said his name was sam parker, giving a badge number 98560Ir and telling me my case number was 89224176. then, he handed the phone over to his ‘supervisor’ mike newton, who also had an asian accent, to try and prove it was legit. when i asked them to send me a letter to confirm first, sam asked for my email. i said no and told him i wanted something posted to my home address instead (that he probably didn’t have). at that point he just cut me off.
