I recently put my CV on a job portal and promptly received an email from ASM Recruitment. Shortly after that, I got a call from a London number concerning a position in Shropshire! They were asking for a copy of my passport along with my National Insurance number. Naturally, I decided to pass on that request. I noticed that the number wasn’t the same as the official ASM contact number.

I struggled to catch what the woman was saying; her voice was quite faint and seemed to rush through her words. She appeared to have an Indian or Pakistani accent, but it was hard to discern much beyond that. It sounded as though she was mentioning something to do with "recruitment," but honestly, it was all a bit muddled. I'm inclined to think it might be a scam of some sort, if I'm honest.

I've had the misfortune of dealing with a scammer purporting to be a stock trader, trying to extort £200 from me! They keep ringing from various numbers, all starting with 020, and I’ve been blocking each one as they come in. It's becoming quite the nuisance!
