Phone number ☎️ 02071937218 👆 is reported as a persistent and sophisticated scam targeting UK residents with calls falsely claiming to be from BT technical support. Callers, often with Asian accents, allege unauthorised use or hacking of internet or broadband services, urging recipients to grant remote access or make immediate changes on their computers. Numerous victims report similar scripted approaches, with attempts to deceive through convincing details like personal information or BT-related jargon. Recipients are advised to avoid engagement, never provide personal or financial information, and verify any such claims directly via official BT channels.

9th Sept 2020 Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, gave me what they said was my BT personal number. They said someone was using my internet connection without permission. The caller spoke quite quickly and had a strong Indian accent, which made it hard to follow. There was a lot of background noise, like a busy office. They kept bringing up BT a lot, but I wasn’t certain it was dodgy till I found this site. Cheers!

Got a call from someone who wouldn’t share their info but kept trying to sound really legit. Definitely a scam, but gotta admit, they were quite smooth about it.

A rather dim-witted individual rang me, asserting he was from BT and that there were issues with the phone lines to Liverpool being compromised. I informed him that I wasn’t a BT customer, but he persisted regardless. He insisted I switch on my computer, which was the moment I decided to hang up. The number 02071937218 appears to be unreachable. To top it all off, he certainly didn’t come across as someone called Brendan Simon!

I got a call from some bloke called Rayne Anderson claiming to be with BT. He told me my internet would be disconnected because supposedly hackers had been using my IP during the night.

So I got a call from someone called Carol, claiming she was from BT. She kept insisting I should go into my computer security settings and switch them to administrative level. Over the past few days, she rang me nearly ten times, just wouldn't leave me alone. The number she used was 02071937218. Even though she said her name was Carol, her accent was definitely Indian. She kept saying I had to change the settings on my computer too. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call from a bloke named John Abraham, Job ID B19475336, from a mobile number. He said scammers were accessing my IP through my internet and that they were trying to help fix it. They sounded Indian and mentioned a customer number that only BT would have. I was really wary about it and said I’d ring them back once I checked with BT to make sure they were legit. They told me to ring back on 02071937218.

I got a call from someone named Brendon Dexter, claiming to be from BT with reference DEXT1993. He told me they were dealing with people abroad using my internet line. When I asked why he was calling from a mobile, he said it was some kind of internet number, then he gave me a number for customer support, but seems like it’s a fake one after all.

So this bloke called, said he was James from BT tech support, but there was no way I was just gonna trust that. When I asked for more info to prove who he was, he told me to ring this other number and gave me some kind of reference codes. While he was talking, I looked up the number on the internet and ended up right here on this site. I told him straight up that I reckoned he was just a scammer trying to con people and that he should find an honest way to make a living instead of ripping off innocent folks.

A bloke called himself David Wilson and gave some BT staff number, I think it was 3219. He spoke with a pretty strong foreign accent. When my missus asked why he was ringing from a mobile, he said “Didn't you know everyone’s working from home now?” He claimed someone else had been using our internet without permission but never explained how he found that out. Then he asked when we last used it. We weren’t having any of it and hung up. Later, I reported that mobile number he dialled us from (07762587424) straight to BT.

I had a pretty similar run-in as loads of people here. Got a call off a bloke with an Asian accent who said he was Wayne Anderson from BT tech support. He reckoned some dodgy use of my IP was letting hackers get in or something. He wouldn’t let up, just rattled on with his rehearsed spiel. Sounded sure of himself, but honestly, it was far from believable. Felt like a total scam from the moment he started.

Received a call today, 19th May 2020, from someone claiming to be Brendan Simon-believe it or not! He alleged to work for the BT tech team based in Newgate Street, London, and warned me that my internet connection was set to be disrupted. However, he abruptly ended the call when I started probing. I made sure to withhold any personal information and didn't grant him access to my computer.

Just like the others mentioned here, I got a call from someone named Wayne Anderson using the number 07497667706. When I said I’d ring him later, he provided a completely different contact 0207193 7218. Be very careful and don’t let anyone have remote access to your PC - it’s definitely a scam. Watch out!

Today, I got a call on my landline from someone with a foreign accent who said his name was Danial and claimed to be calling from DEST1993. He tried to convince me to share info to access my laptop. I hung up, telling him I’d call back later. Since then, three unknown mobile numbers have tried to reach me, but I didn't pick up. The numbers were 07973398206, 07971728927, and 07976795655, none of which I recognised.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Christina at "BT" saying our broadband was hacked - the number was 07853879433. I told her I’d call back on 02071937218 but never did. She mentioned our family name and postcode, which really worried me. When I said we weren’t with BT, she insisted we were and even rattled off other providers like Sky and Virgin. This was on 5th February 2020, around half past noon.

Got a call from someone named Ray Abraham today. He asked me to ring him back on 02071937218 and claimed he could confirm he worked at BT by reciting some codes from the back of a BT Router. He even tossed out a 'personal number' to back it up. Thing is, we’ve never had BT services or even a BT Router in the house, so the whole thing felt pretty fishy!

Had a call from a woman called Christine saying she's from BT, saying my computer was being used by 5 different IP addresses at 2 in the morning. She pushed me to get on my computer right away to fix it. I said I wasn’t able to right now and asked for a contact number, she gave me 02071937218. Pretty clear it's a scam if you ask me.

This guy, Wayne Anderson, said he was calling from BT and gave me a ref number 731596 which sounded pretty legit at first. But the moment he asked if I was at my computer, I got suspicious straight away. I told him I usually ignore calls like this. Then he dropped a number on me, 02071937218, so I thought I’d have a quick look online. Turns out, it’s a scam call all along!

Got a call earlier today from someone called Shaun Davies saying he was from BT tech support in London. He claimed my internet was being accessed without permission and kept pushing me to get on my computer so he could "help" check it out. I wasn't convinced and asked how I could be sure it wasn't a scam. He did mention my internet customer number but I still remained suspicious. At one point, he asked if my mobile was nearby but I didn’t want to say. When I asked for his phone number, he gave me 0207 1937218.

I got a call from Christine Smith claiming to be from BT’s tech team. She told me the correct London BT office address and gave me a callback number - 020 7193 7218 - but wouldn’t share the phone number she called me from, which was 01671 623001. When I started getting confused, she handed me over to her supervisor, Shaun. I acted like I had no clue about tech stuff and eventually he just gave up.

I got a call from a woman with a beautiful British name, Jenny Wilson, but she was speaking with a strong foreign accent. She told me my computer had been hacked, and honestly, there was no chance I was going to follow her orders. I played along, pretending to do what she said, but kept messing around until she got annoyed and just hung up. Classic scammer behaviour!

Got a call today from a bloke with a South Asian accent, said his name was Rayne Anderson. Claimed to be with BT and told me there was some dodgy activity on my internet. He said the call was coming from 0207 193 7218 but was actually ringing me from 0783 365 601. He told me to ring him back on that landline number, I did, but no one answered and the line just cut off. Tried to get me to give him access to my PC, which luckily I didn’t let him do!

Got a call same as before saying there’s some issues with broadline, but they can only sort out about 60% from their side. Not the full lot, apparently. Found this on the BT scam page, which says they’ll never do stuff like: Ring you up to say your computer has a problem Request your payment info through email or chat Just call outta nowhere asking for remote access to your PC or gadgets.

Somebody said they were from BT, a lady speaking with a really strong Asian accent, talking about our BT connection. She wanted my husband to switch on the computer, but he told her he wasn’t sure how to do that. Then a bloke calling himself John Abraham from BT London joined the call offering to assist. My husband said he’d check with me and would get back to him. Not entirely certain who was trying to scam who in the end? Definitely won’t be calling them back, but I’m sure we’ll get another call soon enough.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be with BT, saying our IP address was being used late at night, like between 12 and 2am. We get loads of calls supposedly from BT about our internet, and normally, we just hang up straight away. But this time, it didn’t sound like the usual script.
