Reports on phone number 02071936136
12 yearsI received a call from a fella named Ronald Lewis, who had a rather thick Indian accent. It seemed like he was calling from a super hectic call centre. He claimed to be representing the Department of Justice and insisted that they had a sum of £2400 waiting for me due to some PPI mis-selling. However, in order to get my hands on it, I was instructed to pay a so-called 10% government tax through either a UKASH voucher or a bank mandate. Apparently, a solicitor named Mrs Mary Edwards would personally deliver the cheque today, contingent on me providing some form of identification alongside the £240 voucher. Honestly, what on earth? I jotted down the number and tried calling back, only to be greeted by a 'Dave'. When I inquired about Ronald, they put me through to him, but honestly, he could have introduced himself as Ronald McDonald for all the sense it made. Do yourself a favour and hang up on these scammers; definitely report this nonsense!Ronald LewisDepartment of JusticeMary EdwardsDaveRonaldRonald McDonald12 yearsThis morning, I received a call from someone introducing themselves as "Ronald" - can you believe it? - with a rather noticeable Asian accent, claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice. The spiel sounded all too familiar: apparently, I have a whopping £2,400 waiting for me. Naturally, I said my usual "No, thank you," and promptly ended the call. A quick search online led me to this site, and lo and behold, just half an hour later, Ronald was back on the line! I told him he ought to feel thoroughly embarrassed for his antics. The unfortunate truth is, there are individuals who, driven by greed or at their most vulnerable, might actually be taken in by this nonsense! If he dares to ring again, he’ll be greeted with a lovely whistle down the phone!RonaldMinistry of Justice12 yearsThis is certainly a shady operation. They persistently ring my elderly mother, who is 90 and suffering from dementia, insisting she has some sort of compensation awaiting her if she provides her banking information. I reached out to BT, and they confirmed it’s a fraudulent scam. It seems my mother has been inundated with these calls, and I suspect her number has been leaked somehow. They’ve taken to identifying themselves as the Ministry of Justice. Do exercise caution with these calls!BTMinistry of Justice12 yearsI've had a chap ringing me, insisting he's from the Ministry of Justice, saying I'm owed a significant sum in compensation, but only if I purchase some Ukash vouchers first. Seems quite dodgy, if you ask me!Ministry of Justice12 yearsBest to steer clear of these con artists!12 yearsI'm hoping to find out to whom this number is registered.Submit Your Own Report (020 7193 6136)
