So my missus answered the phone, told the bloke she doesn’t take random calls, and the guy, who sounded Asian, just snapped “F##k you”! When she asked him to say it again, he basically just said the same thing. She told him to hang up, and thankfully he did. We’ve gone ahead and reported it to the information commissioner. If anyone else gets this kind of call, I’d definitely say report it too.

Cheers to everyone who warned about this being a dodgy number. Got a call from this code earlier today and almost picked up since it looked like someone local or family. Glad I didn’t! Hearing your stories really helps stop others, especially older folks, from falling for it.

Received a call from a bloke with an Asian accent who said his name was Harry and that he worked for the Ministry of Justice. He told me I was owed about £3000. When I asked how I'd get paid, he said I could get a cheque, but then added that someone would have to come round to my place at 5:30pm for me to show photo ID and sign some forms. I wasn’t having it, got tired of the whole thing and just ended the call.

Got two phone calls from different folks, both sounded Asian, one bloke and one lady. They said they were with the Ministry of Justice, trying to make it sound all official and stuff, and wanted a word with my missus. I told them she wasn’t about but if they explained what it was, I’d let her know. One of them got all annoyed, saying I was wasting his time, then just slammed the phone down. The other? Got a call claiming I owed £2600 in bank fees that were supposedly taken from my account. The bloke said his name was Eric Brown and he worked for the Ministry of Justice - bit odd considering he had an Indian accent. Then he tried to get me to buy a Tesco card worth £130. When I told him it sounded like a scam, I got passed on to someone called Julie Shaw from their "legal team." I wasn’t having any of it, so I said I’d look up the number online and ended the call. Had a right laugh with some so-called 'officer' earlier! Claimed to be from the Ministry of Justice's claims management and regulation team. When I asked where he was located, he said '102 Petty France, London'. Funny thing is, I actually work there! Told him that straight away. After that, he got a bit rude and in a thick Indian accent, called me a 'mother F#@ker'. Pretty obvious this is just a call centre in India or Pakistan, and a total scam to boot.

I've been inundated with calls from this number on a daily basis. Usually, I choose not to answer, primarily due to my caller ID feature on the landline. I confronted the caller, stating that I recognised it as a scam and made it clear that my number is private, requesting that he refrain from calling me again. His response was rather dismissive, merely saying “so what” and carried on with his spiel. Once I hung up, he persisted in ringing me, but I opted not to engage. Quite infuriating, really!

Recently, I received a rather peculiar phone call from someone with a pronounced foreign accent. He referred to me as 'Mr' followed by my first name, which initially caught me off guard. A guy called Ron Barton said he was from the Ministry of Justice. He claimed I had £2500 coming back from the government and asked how I wanted to receive it - I told him by post. Then he mentioned I’d need to pay £125 tax before getting it. He said some solicitor named Julie Grim would pop by my place at 1pm today and I had to have photo ID ready. By that point, I was well annoyed since he wouldn’t properly answer any of my questions. Sounds like just another scam to me. I thought all cold calls were banned now?

I've been getting loads of calls lately, first pretending to be from the Ministry of Justice, then Barclays demanding 3K, and now some Financial Ombudsman guy named Raymond Lee ringing about 2.5K. He told me to pay £150 by bank transfer and then they'd release my money. When I said I'd put it down in my tax return, he insisted it wasn't anything to do with tax. I asked him to send proper paperwork and a statement from Barclays to back up what he was saying, but all he said was he liked writing and promised a handwritten letter instead! Honestly, they must think we're total mugs.

Apparently, there's something fishy involving a supposed payout of £2500. But here’s the catch - I had to pay 5% of that (£125) to the "Inland Revenue." Then, he asked me to buy an iTunes card from a shop and call him back. I asked which bank was handling the refund, but all they said was that a government lawyer would show up with a cheque. Then they tried to get me to buy a £150 iTunes voucher to pay tax to HMRC. I told him straight up I’ve never taken out a loan in my life. He seemed surprised and asked again, and I said yep, never had one. Then I asked him where he got my info from and before I could say more, he just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got a call once, total silence before they just hung up - clearly some dodgy scam attempt. Honestly, if you don’t say a word, they won’t get anything from you. Best bet is to just let it go to voicemail. Legit callers will leave a message, and folks who know you will be happy hearing from you when you call back. If by chance you do answer and it’s someone fishing for info, just tell them to have a look at this site, it’s packed with warnings. Maybe they’ll catch on!

Beware, these people are total scammers!! An elderly lady, my mum, got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming she had £3000 owed to her and then started talking about an iTunes card. He said his name was Peter Grey (Sure, like that’s real). When I phoned the number back, the guy answered as Adam Smith (No way) from something called the Claims Regulator (yeah, as if). The number’s from London, and honestly someone needs to trace and catch these folks, they’re just conning people day in, day out. I called back and warned him I’m going to the police with this.

Got a call from some Asian bloke saying he was with the Ministry of Justice, telling me I was due some money. Sounded like a total con to me so I ended up just hanging up and blocking the number. Just another scam, nothing legit about it.

I got a call saying I was due £2,500 because of some bank fees or something. I told them it was a scam, and then this Asian bloke started shouting really rude stuff about my mum. It was terrible, especially since I’ve just lost my own mum recently. Proper upsetting.

Received a call from an Asian bloke asking for my wife by name. When I asked who it was, he claimed he was with the ‘Ministry of Justice’. I called him out for trying to scam us and ended the call straight away. Honestly, he might have had better luck saying he was from the ‘Ministry of Magic’ instead!

Loads of calls and emails came through from someone named John Williams claiming he had a £3000 cheque for a bank fees dispute, which was supposedly going to be handed over by a nearby solicitor. I got in touch with the Financial Ombudsman and they advised me to just forward the email I received and not to reply or phone this person back since they don’t cold call people as part of their process. Watch out, this seems like a proper nasty scam and definitely not genuine.

This number has rung me quite a few times, claiming they’re from the ministry of justice. The last person I spoke to was really rude. I told them not to call again and hung up. But then they called right back and started yelling at me. I've blocked the number now.

So I called the number back without even checking it first since it was a London one. Some woman with an accent picked up and told me I’d reached a government office! Then she passed me onto another lady who said, “congratulations, your [something] has been approved.” I honestly had no clue what she meant and just ended the call. Does the real government department have any idea these calls are going on?

I just got a call and told the bloke I'm not interested, and he turned really rude, even said something about going and f.k your dead mum. Proper nasty!

I got a call from this bloke claiming to be with the Ministry of Justice, saying I owed some loan money from 2008. He kept on threatening that the police and a loan officer would show up at my door. When I politely asked him to repeat what he said, he just wouldn't do it. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

A guy with a bad grasp of English called saying he was from the justice department. Told me I'd got £2000 waiting from some old account I supposedly had. Then he mentioned someone would visit me with a cheque for that sum, but all they needed was my photo ID. After that, he said he'd connect me to someone who’d ask me for £150 to pay my income tax before I could get the money.

I got a call where the person wanted to confirm if someone was at the house. I spoke really clearly and asked them how they got my number and where they were calling from, and they just hung up. But when they rang my mum, they were quite pushy and tried to squeeze out private details, which left her feeling really anxious and bothered.

The caller was really impolite and never mentioned their identity. They hung up straight away when I said I wasn’t the person they wanted. I tried ringing back to find out who it was, but they just ended the call again.

I got a call from 02071934913, with someone pretending to be from the financial ombudsman's so-called government claims unit. Apparently, i was owed £2,500 for being overcharged interest on a halifax loan. They urgently asked for my bank info but when i said i'd prefer a cheque, they said someone would ring back the next day. Before that, i had to buy a £125 paysafe card, which felt dodgy as they probably planned to use the code. I double-checked with the actual ombudsman service and found out it’s all just a scam.

Heads up everyone - got a call from some scammers pretending to be from the Ministry of Justice, said they were from the regulation department. The bloke had a really thick Indian accent but gave himself an English name, Tony Scott. He wanted me to buy a paysafe card for £150. Don't fall for it, tell them where to stick it or give a loud whistle to scare them off. They're just trying to rob you, total scammers!

I've been receiving persistent calls from this number with someone claiming I've won a cheque for £2600. However, they're insisting that before I can receive it, I need to mail £450 to an address in Peterborough. Sounds a bit dodgy, doesn't it?
