I got a rather suspicious call yesterday, and it happened a total of eight times! They claimed to be from McAfee, supposedly regarding an issue with my computer. However, the number they called from didn't match up at all, and they wanted me to pay £399 for a three-year contract. Just as I was about to share my card details, something didn’t sit right with me, so I decided to reach out to my bank instead. Definitely sounds dodgy!

Got a call from 02071934654 on 18/01/20 but no message was left. I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t know. After looking it up here, I found out it’s a scam so I’ve blocked that number now.

They've rang me a few times now. The first time I picked up, thinking it was someone from family, but it turned out to be some dodgy call about a car crash, which I wasn’t involved in, so I just ended the call. Haven't bothered answering since, but they still keep ringing my mobile every now and then.

Honestly, whats the use of TPS when these morons continue to pester normal folks with those dodgy insurance scam calls? Seems like they just ignore it completely.

Today's topper in the scam department!

Anyone trying to scam over the phone better watch out... they record your voice, kinda like a fingerprint. Sooner or later, someone might just turn up at your house...

One effective method is to drop a text to TPS at 85095 - standard network charges apply, of course. This action registers your number with the Telephone Preference Service, making it illegal for those pesky marketing firms to harass you. Should they choose to ignore this and reach out anyway, they risk facing rather steep fines. Be aware, it could take up to 28 days for the service to kick in fully, but it’s certainly a worthwhile endeavour. Feel free to spread the word about this number and assist others in the process. In the meantime, why not have a bit of banter with these callers? Lead them on as if you’re interested; fabricate a tale about some made-up mishap. Keep them engaged on the line for as long as you can, then reveal that they’ve just squandered their precious time and may have inadvertently avoided ripping someone else off!

I got a call from some robotic-sounding woman asking if I’d recently had a car crash. Thing is, I don’t even have a licence! Still, I played along for a bit, then they transferred me to a bloke with an Indian accent. I told him quite firmly that I don’t drive, and then he just cut the call. Weird experience!

No matter what, just don’t pick up - simply "block" them. If someone has their office location, could you please share it on all platforms? That’s probably the best chance we’ve got to fight back against these scammers.

This morning, I received a rather peculiar phone call regarding a supposed road accident that I've never been involved in. I informed the caller that I’ve never had such an incident-because I genuinely haven't-and pointed out that their information was completely erroneous. The lady assured me that they'd remove my number from their list. However, I won’t be surprised if I get a similar call again soon, as this isn't the first time I've experienced such nonsense!

I got a call from “Sky Support” saying I’d been in some sort of accident, but they wouldn’t tell me any details unless I confirmed my personal info first. I don't pick up calls from unknown numbers unless they're from nearby. If it’s important, they’ll usually leave a voicemail anyway. Every now and then I do answer and have a bit of fun giving them a piece of my mind, which can be quite entertaining. These call centres tend to have loads of numbers, often in a row, so blocking one rarely helps much. Just keep blocking them as they come.

I received a call at half one this afternoon from a familiar voice claiming, "we understand you’ve been involved in an accident that wasn’t your fault." I didn’t pick up, but got curious and checked the number. I reckon this lady rings every now and then, starts off with this odd laugh, then goes on about me being in a car crash. Problem is, I don’t even drive nowadays.

Just hang up on them, total scam!

Got a call, declined it, then they rang again just seconds later. When I finally picked up, there was nothing but silence. Honestly, don't even waste your time, it's definitely a scam!

The incessant ringing is beyond frustrating! It's driving me up the wall!

Total scam, don’t fall for it!!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from "Sky Expert Guidance," insisting they'd heard I was involved in an accident through no fault of my own. Well, let me set the record straight-I haven’t had any such incident, and they certainly haven't been in the loop. Utter nonsense! It’s clearly a scam.

Got a misscall from 020 7193 4654 earlier today, actually three times. I didn’t pick up since the last time I answered, I ended up with a £125 bill from them. Not falling for that again!

I saw some posts about it being a scam number, so I just let it ring without picking up.

Got a couple of missed calls from this number earlier. Didn’t pick up and looked it up, loads of people saying it’s probably a scam!

I seriously doubt they're being truthful about who they claim to be. None of the details they provided really made any sense.

Got a call from some weirdo asking what kind of knickers I was wearing. Sounded like one of those Daily Mail readers who are also oddly obsessed with VAR in footie.

Had a call not long ago from someone claiming my car was involved in a crash. Thing is, I don’t even own a car or know how to drive. The woman on the phone said she’d take my number off their list or something like that. Strange experience really.

I chose not to pick up since I had a feeling it was a stranger calling.

I've blocked the number but they keep ringing from a slightly different one. It's so annoying, driving me mad.

I didn’t pick up cause the number was strange to me, but I looked it up here afterwards. Turns out it was definitely a scam, so happy I didn’t get involved.

So it seems I've been "involved" in yet another crash - that's the fourth time this week! I keep blocking the number, but they just ring from somewhere else. I ended up telling the caller they should really find themselves a proper job. Probably won’t stop them, but at least I felt a bit better having given some career advice to someone clearly lost.

Pure scam, pure scam! Picked up thinking it was a real call. Guy goes on about some accident I was in... which one? He says it's from the last three years. So I ask again, "Which one exactly?" After loads of awkward hesitation, he just hangs up. Blocked straight away. Proper thick, and honestly, we really need these dodgy calls stopped for good.

Somebody rang me up saying I’d been in an accident and started asking for my personal info. Felt like a total scam to me.

Loads of scam bots just ignore calls, nothing gets through.

Leanne Hamilton got in touch, and when I asked what accident she was referring to, she quickly handed me over to someone claiming to be a supervisor. I then asked for the exact date of the accident, but she said she needed to check and would ring me back. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.
