4 yearsAction Fraud are just pointless. I reported this number and they just left it active for two full days after my complaint. They said they can’t do anything until 28 days have passed! This is the second time in as many months that these idiots have gone after me. Honestly, you should write to your MP and raise a fuss about how little they do.4 yearsI got one of those creepy messages too like others mentioned. I ended up switching my phone off and on again, and then did a bit of storage clean-up. Seems to have sorted it out.4 yearsAbsolute scammers, watch out!4 yearsMy wife's Chromebook showed this number, she doesn't have any Windows device at all.4 yearsI did what people suggested and turned the router off for about 30 minutes before rebooting my PC. That seemed to fix the block. These dodgy scammers have messed me about twice now. Tried reporting it to Action Fraud but got nowhere, proper waste of time. Told them exactly what I thought!4 yearsMy sister’s laptop suddenly showed a nasty warning saying she had a trojan spyware virus ready to nick all her private stuff like passwords, bank info, and other sensitive data. The alert came with a number claiming to be from Microsoft support, urging her to ring them straight away to stop the ‘virus’ - which I’m pretty sure was just a trick to get into her computer. We decided to look up Microsoft Support online, and after a bit of digging, it became clear it was a SCAM. The advice we got was to switch off the wi-fi router immediately to break the connection, then restart the laptop but don’t turn the router back on just yet. We made sure to pick the option to “go back to where you left off” or something similar. We waited about ten minutes before switching the router back on and thankfully, everything turned out fine. Just wanted to share this in case anyone encounters the same thing.Microsoft4 yearsI got a pop-up on my computer saying something about a virus from Microsoft and warning me not to turn it off. It urged me to ring the number they showed or risk losing access to my email, bank account, Facebook and more. I looked up the number after and decided it was safer to just log out and ignore it.MicrosoftFacebookSubmit Your Own Report (020 7193 2200)
