My elderly mum, who’s 90, just got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC. They were clearly trying to scam her. Pretty awful to target someone that old. I’m sorting it out by reporting them to both BT and the police now.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying I owed them money and asking me to snap a picture of my bank statement and send it over. I told them I already had the photo ready, even though I didn’t, and they hung up straight away after that.

Got another robocall about some tax issue and a warrent for arrest. So rude and scary, but I just ended the call straight away.

i picked up but stayed quiet, they ended up just hanging up on me.

I called them back and got some Nigerian guy on the line. Then an automated message started warning me about tax evasion and jail time or something. Honestly, these Nigerian scammers are not to be messed with. Don’t fool yourself thinking you’re safe. Proper scoundrels.
