I've had a similar encounter, although there’s a twist - he presented himself as David Johnson. Even Norton concurs that it’s a fraudulent scheme. One has to wonder, shouldn't Norton be looking into this? It really raises eyebrows considering it sounds like their personnel might be leaking details to these scoundrels while masquerading under the Norton brand.

I encountered a bit of a sticky situation with my laptop, which picked up a nasty virus. I decided to search for Norton technical support on my tablet and ended up calling a number that appeared in the results. A chap answered and offered to remotely fix my laptop, which he did-thankfully, it's running smoothly now. However, he then demanded a staggering £190 for his services. When I questioned the charge, he insisted he was with Norton support and that payment was mandatory, which I flatly refused. He had a noticeable Pakistani English accent and introduced himself as Kevin Miller. Honestly, I reckon he's a fraudster, and I sincerely hope I bump into him one day!
