I received a call from this number recently, and it was an English-speaking chap with an American twang. He was confirming our address and, rather cheekily, asked for our landline fax number. I refused to provide it, but I did offer up our seldom-used e-identifier upon his request. The moment I did that, he hung up! Honestly, I have no idea who these people are, but they certainly raise my suspicions. Anyone who hides their identity is most likely up to no good. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

The moment we answered the call, there was a bit of a delay before they responded, which suggested we were likely connected to an Asian call centre. They asked if the details they had were accurate, and read them out to us while we listened. They introduced themselves as being from Merit Data Services. However, when I probed for further information and asked for their website and the name of their company once more, they hastily ended the conversation and hung up. Quite the peculiar experience!

I've been inundated with calls from this number, always claiming to be from various "companies" and presenting different reasons each time. I tend to disregard them now, but the most recent one took the biscuit - it was supposedly the "Verification Board" wanting to confirm our details with British Gas. Naturally, I fed them a bunch of nonsense, including fake addresses and wrong account numbers. They seemed rather pleased with themselves, which is amusing because we don't even have gas! Oh, the joys of these persistent nuisances!

I received a call from a lady with an Asian accent, inquiring about the subcontractors associated with our company. I had to explain that we couldn’t disclose any details about the firms involved. She was quite polite about it and wrapped up the conversation swiftly. When asked, she introduced herself as Monica from a publications company called Journal Rang Manage Properties. It gives me the impression they might be compiling a database of information tied to phone numbers for some purpose, perhaps to sell later on.

I received a call from a lady with an Asian accent while I was browsing through some local publications and leaflets that had been delivered. I couldn't quite catch the name of the magazine she mentioned, but I did confirm my interest. Just as we were about to end the call, I caught a mention of my street name. When I called back using the 1471 service, I got this number. Just a heads up, we’re ex-directory and on the Telephone Preference Service list.

I recently received a call from this number, and it was an Asian chap who rang us right after we picked up our complimentary local paper. We decided to hang up on him, as we're ex-directory and have our name on the TPS list!

Received a call from this number earlier on. I chose not to answer as it didn’t come up on my caller ID, which immediately raised a red flag. I even checked the number with 1471 afterward. What’s the deal with these callers hiding their identities? Do they genuinely think I’m going to be foolish enough to ring back despite their cloak-and-dagger tactics? It’s quite baffling, to be honest!

I received a call from this number not too long ago. An Asian chap was on the line, mentioning something about our complimentary local paper. We ended up terminating the conversation quite abruptly. Mind you, I’m ex-directory and also on the TPS list!

I received a call from a woman with an Asian accent while I was casually flicking through a local newspaper, which had some leaflets tucked away inside. It’s curious that I hadn’t heard anything about this being a common practice, but she did respond with a simple "yes." After hanging up, I couldn’t help but catch a bit of chatter about my street name. After that, I dialled 1471 to trace the number. I've since opted out and registered for the Telephone Preference Service.

We did a little digging and discovered that the London Mercury ceased operations in 1939, which makes this number seem rather questionable. When we called it back, all we got was an American voicemail saying the inbox is full, along with some strange extension number. Definitely feels a bit off!

Received a call from this Merit Data Services, and they seemed rather inquisitive about various details concerning the company and individuals associated with it. They wanted information about my mobile devices, among other things. When I inquired about the necessity of these particulars, the caller claimed it was to halt any unsolicited calls and mentioned a partnership with Yellow Pages. However, midway through the conversation, we decided to withhold further information. We certainly won’t be taken in by this organisation again.

I got in touch with the Ealing Leader, that free local newspaper, and they confirmed they had what I was looking for. However, when they gave me an address over in Greenford, I was quite taken aback and said, "Pardon?" To my surprise, she just hung up on me without any further explanation. Quite bizarre, really!

On Sunday evening at around 8:40, I received a call from an Asian man who seemed keen on discussing something related to a local newspaper in the North East. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite make out what he was saying, so I asked him to clarify, but he abruptly hung up on me instead. Very peculiar, to say the least. Anyone heard of this Washington Star?

We received a call from this number, and after answering, we promptly hung up. To our surprise, they tried to ring us back no fewer than six times! Each time, we refused to engage and cut the conversation short. It's absurd! I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list and not available for marketing calls, so I’ll definitely be lodging a formal complaint about this.

Yet another attempt at a scam, I'd say. We decided not to pick up. It’s strange how, when it's genuinely important, these callers manage to leave a message. If only they'd identify themselves properly or respect the Telephone Preference Service!

Received a call just now but didn’t pick up, as we haven’t got the foggiest idea about who it might be, haha!

I came across the same situation earlier today while browsing the community newspaper and some flyers. It's quite alarming how she managed to access details like names and addresses that shouldn't be easily accessible. It really set us on edge, particularly with all the concerns surrounding identity theft these days. In light of this, we reached out to the local newspaper, urging them to alert others about this deception.

I received a call this evening from someone who mentioned they had a copy of my local paper. They expressed their gratitude and then abruptly hung up. What’s quite unsettling is that she used our family name, and we hadn't provided her with that info. It seems she might have been trying to confirm some details about us.

Received another call from this number, but we chose not to pick up. If it were something genuinely important, I’m certain they would have left a message. The caller ID shows some odd name, and I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so this is quite peculiar!

I received a call from this number as well, and it was rather peculiar. The caller was inquiring about a copy of the London Mercury Newspaper, which left me quite puzzled. After rattling off an address, they asked me to verify it, but I quickly realised it wasn’t familiar to me. I shared our home phone and street name, but then they insisted on obtaining our entire address, telephone number, and postcode. I opted not to provide any more information and hung up. Quite an odd experience, really!
