Today at 11 in the morning, I got a call where a woman’s voice, clearly a recording, said it was from HMRC warning me to ring them back straight away or get my solicitor to do so. She said if I didn’t, I’d face serious legal trouble. Honestly, it felt really creepy and made me quite uneasy.

I've been in a rather raw state since losing my aunt, so you can imagine my shock when I got a robocall from this number claiming that a lawsuit's been lodged against me. It urged me not to dismiss it and instructed me to return the call. On top of that, it alarmingly mentioned that my home was supposedly being watched. To say this is the last thing I need at the moment is an understatement. It's added a layer of distress I certainly didn't want.

I went through pretty much the same thing as others have described. Got a cold call from a robotic sounding woman saying I was being investigated and that my home was being watched. When I rang back, some guy with an Indian or Pakistani accent answered. It’s obvious they’re just trying to scare people into returning the call (who knows what they’re after). I’m going to report the number to the police, let my phone company know, and block them - what a bunch of muppets!

He didn't bother to ask for any personal details like my date of birth or tax reference number, which immediately raised red flags for me. So this number rang me and I got the exact same voicemail twice. When I phoned back, the guy asked if I’d gotten the message, I said nope, then he wanted my name. I asked who he was, and he just went and called me an idiot before hanging up. Hilarious! Think ima have some fun messing with these scammers now.

Got a similar call like this one, so I tried calling back but gave a different name. The bloke who picked up said he couldn’t help since the name didn’t match, even though the mobile number was the same. Looks like they’re mainly after the phone number itself. I kept thinking, what do these calls have in common? I run a business and folks can find me easily on the internet. Maybe others out there are getting these calls for the same reason.

I got a call from this number and honestly, it really freaked me out at first. They were saying something about a govt lawsuit against me for dodging taxes 😟. But then when the guy started pushing me to pay immediately over the phone, I got suspicious and asked some questions. After that, he just ended the call with a "good luck, bye". Got a call the other day, but all I heard was silence before it suddenly ended. So I rang back and they asked if I got a voicemail, I just said I was calling them back. They said thanks and hung up on me. Proper weird! If anyone ever tells you "you're gonna lose your home," just tell them that’s probably why some bricks vanished today, along with the door handle and a broken window pane - keeps those muppets busy and it's quite a laugh! I received a phone call telling me I was involved in some sort of investigation and that my home was being watched. When I dialled the number back, someone answered claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs. The person acted like they couldn’t hear what I was saying, and after a while, they began blocking my calls. This is definitely a scam because when I looked the number up on Google, it didn’t match the official HMRC contact details at all. Best to just hang up if you get a call like that.

Got a recorded message claiming I was involved in some tax fraud and was gonna lose my house. Didn’t listen properly to the whole thing but rang the number back to see what was going on. The bloke on the line had a thick accent and was babbling nonsense mostly, proper hard to make out. When he asked if I was gonna get a solicitor or barrister in the next 45 minutes, I said no, and then he went on about me ‘being arrested’. Tried ringing them back since but the line’s always busy, but I’ll have another go a bit later.

Having been a copper myself, I can tell you straight, that's not how the police operate at all. Don't bother returning the call - it's almost certainly a reverse premium scam. These scumbags aren't messing about, they could seriously freak someone out and cause real harm. Stay well clear of this number.
