I’ve just received a dodgy call from this number claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse! They were trying to lure me in with an unbelievable (and clearly fictitious) offer for an iPhone. Total scam!

It puzzles me why these scammers and pesky callers never seem to get caught by fraud teams. Ofcom knows exactly which companies are handling the number rentals, right? So, logically, there should be bank account info linked to the payments for these numbers. You'd think this would make it easy to track down the people behind all these dodgy calls. I’m just curious as to why it’s still such a problem…
