I got a call from someone claiming to be from O2, but I’m already a customer and they usually just text me. Definitely sounds like a scam call centre trying to trick people.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from O2, but I'm already signed up with them. The only recent thing I did that might explain how they got my number was applying for a phone contract through some site called Affordable Mobiles. If anyone else has used that site and got calls from this number, maybe it’s worth reaching out to Affordable Mobiles about it.

The caller had an Asian accent but their English was awful. They kept going on about TVs, but didn’t make much sense. They rang me back a few more times after I ignored the first call. In the end, I just blocked the number.

Got a call on my work phone from someone claiming to be my energy provider. I told them that can’t be right as I already know who my supplier is. The guy, who had an Asian accent, started saying my company name and address, insisting they were the current supplier. When I told him it’s actually a private residence and I operate my business out of my house, he just ended the call straight away. Sounds like a proper scam to me.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were with EON, but as soon as I told them I wasn’t a customer, they just cut off. Later on, another call came through, this time they said they were from British Gas but ended the call really quickly after that. Strange behaviour!

I got a call from someone claiming to be with British Gas, saying they were our energy provider but couldn't back it up with any info. They kept pushing to get some personal details from me. The bloke was really pushy and quite rude too. Don’t fall for it or share anything! At one point, he actually told me to get lost.

This individual kept calling daily for a fortnight, displaying nothing but rudeness and aggression. They were insistent on getting through to a specific person, and their temper flared when that person was unavailable. To my astonishment, they even accused us of being dishonest! Claiming to represent British Gas, they were relentless. When they finally got to speak with their intended contact, their behaviour didn’t improve; they were still shockingly disrespectful. In the end, I decided to hang up on him. Almost immediately, he called back and shouted a profanity before abruptly ending the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were from a utility company but wouldn’t specify which, saying I needed to renew my EDF contract. We don’t even use EDF. When I challenged him on that, he went quiet for a bit, then started stressing that I had to renew or my service would get cut. I hung up, but he rang straight back and repeated the same thing, sounding even more worked up. I told him I’d looked up his number and it came up as a scam. After a long pause, he just hung up.

They ring us loads of times a week, pretending to be from Eon, British Gas or sometimes say they're from "your current provider". It's a total scam, just trying to trick you into handing over money. I've told them countless times we're not even customers of Eon but they just hang up and call again a few days later. Proper annoying and clearly just dodgy.

Got a call today from 02071294767 about supposedly renewing my contract with Smartest Energy. When I asked them to email the updated details, they kept pushing me for my name and email address. Turned out to be a scam. I checked with Smartest Energy's customer service who confirmed that this number has been flagged before, pretending to be from their company. The bloke on the phone had an Asian accent and spoke pretty decent English, but I wasn’t having any of it and quickly ended the call.

A guy called saying he was from British Gas business Renewals and that we were due for a contract renewal which he wanted to send to our address. I told him he was talking rubbish since we no longer deal with British Gas, but he insisted I was mistaken. I ended the call because another customer was waiting, but he called back immediately. It felt a bit like harassment, though I didn’t let it go on. Definitely not how British Gas handle renewals, so best to just ignore and block these calls.
