Phone number ☎️ 02071268628 👆 is reported as a persistent scam using phone calls and texts pretending to be from Barclays or other banks, aiming to steal personal banking information. The number is not associated with any legitimate bank contact and often references fake transactions or device additions to accounts. Users strongly advise never to respond, call back, or engage with these messages or calls, as doing so may lead to voice cloning or other fraud. It is crucial to verify any suspicious contact via official bank numbers found on bank-issued materials. All scam attempts should be promptly reported to official UK authorities through systems such as the 7726 text service, police, and Ofcom, helping protect others and enable enforcement action. Blocking one number is ineffective; scammers use multiple numbers.

Just got a text saying to call Barclays on this number. Since I’m not a Barclays customer, I thought I’d look it up here before ringing.

This scam isn’t new to anyone really. Best thing to do with these texts is to send them straight to 7726. I’ve seen a few posts here explaining what’s going on with this con and why it’s so risky. Plus, they tell you exactly how to report all these fraud attempts to the police and Ofcom using the system the previous government introduced to track and handle these calls. If nobody reports them, nothing’s gonna change or stop.

I got a call supposedly from BarclayBank saying that a new device was linked to my account at 5pm, and if it wasn’t me I should call this number back. Sounds like just another scam aimed at stealing your banking info, especially if you happen to have an account with them. I looked up the phone number and it definitely isn’t one that belongs to Barclays Bank.

I got a call supposedly from Barclays about a payment to Aaron Motors Ltd. I looked up Aaron Motors and found they’re in Blackburn. So why would a London number be used if the payment was for a firm that far north? Sure, the bank dealing with Blackburn stuff should ring from a local number. Plus, Barclays and most banks don’t call from numbers starting with 020, 0161, or 0115 - they usually use 0345 numbers. These scammers clearly have to be up way too early if they think they can trick me with this nonsense.

Banks tend to reach out to customers through a variety of numbers, usually via VOIP setups. If you get an unexpected call from your bank, the safest thing is to ring back on the number shown on your bank card. Scam calls need to be reported to both the police and Ofcom, as these organisations were set up recently by the government to track and tackle such fraud. You'll find info on how to report scams below. This particular number here is a known scam, so it’s important to report any calls or messages to help put an end to this nonsense.

Got a text from this number saying they added my card to something called Apple Wallet Samuel Device. Another obvious scam, just ignored and got rid of it!

Sounds like a scam to me - they tried to get me to repeat a text I got about adding a new payee. I hung up straight away and blocked the number.

This is the second time I've got this call, so I've gone ahead and reported it and then blocked the number.

Got the same message as someone else mentioned before, saying my card was added to some Samuel Device. I flagged it as spam and let them know.

Got a text saying my card was linked to an Apple Pay wallet called Samuel Device, and if I didn’t know about it, I should ring 02071268628 straight away. I looked over my bank stuff and everything seemed fine, so I marked the message as spam.
