Spoke to an Asian woman claiming to be from BT sayin my broadband was being used by someone else. She had me open my browser and enter a site remotepc[###] which led to remotepcTM by iDrive. Then she asked me to download some software. I said I was hanging up and would report the call to BT, which I did straight away.

Got a call from an asian guy working in a call centre saying my subscription was ending today and that i needed to renew it. This annoying person rang us 9 times yesterday, the last one at 9.13pm. Luckily, BT call guardian stopped the calls. But they didn’t quit, they then phoned from another number, 0207 126 3248, and right after, an ‘INTERNATIONAL’ call showed up with no number. I’m dreading how many times they’ll try today.

Fraudsters really ought to be locked up. Some idiot rang me at my place just after 6pm on Monday the 26th of Feb, 2018. It was a bloke with a strong Indian accent. I've since put the number 02071248653 on my block list.

"Telephone Preference." This guy really won't give up! Got a call on our home phone tonight from a man with a strong accent, asking for me by name, claiming he’s calling from "Telephone Preference." I cut him off quick and told him he’s wrong, our number’s on the actual Telephone Preference Service list and he shouldn’t be ringing. Then I just ended the call. Like others have said, TPS is free and you never need to renew your registration. It’s worrying how people who aren't so tech-savvy might get tricked by calls like this.

I got around 7 calls too. Lucky for me, my phone has this free thing called call guardian, as long as your phone can use it. It stops all these scam calls from ringing through. I've had it up to here with getting like 156 calls in a single day from all sorts of cons.

Today, I received a call from an individual who claimed to be from India. He asked me for my name, address, and postcode in order to verify my identity. However, he then started asking me questions regarding my bank details. Specifically, he inquired about the expiry date and requested additional information. I firmly declined to provide him with any further details, explaining that he seemed already well-informed and therefore shouldn't require any additional information. Afterward, I promptly ended the call. Since then, he has attempted to reach out two more times, but I have chosen not to answer his calls.

Got a call from this number today 2.02.18, didn’t pick up. Looked up the number afterwards and glad I didn’t. What’s weird is, about an hour before, I’d had 3 calls from 01525510004 asking the same info as this call. They already had my name and address and, like some others said, started asking about my credit card details. I just ended the call. Just another scam number to block. Why do these fraudsters keep getting away with it?

Today, an Indian lady called me asking if I had received any scam mail and inquiring about my name and address. These calls are very frequent, sometimes even from an Indian man. It is clearly a scam and a major annoyance. I urgently need assistance on how to put an end to these calls as my husband is very ill and this situation is very troublesome for us.

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Asian, background noise like he was in some busy call centre. Said he was from the TPS but then started asking me for my Direct Debit card info to 'verify' me. I told him no way am I giving that out, though he did know my name and some other stuff. He got a bit rude when I wouldn't share any details.

I agree with you. Today, I have received two calls from the same number. During the first call, they mentioned my name incorrectly, and I immediately ended the call. In the second call, there was complete silence on the other end. Interestingly, this matches the text scam I received earlier claiming to be from a bank, asking for my personal information. Therefore, it is vital for everyone to be cautious and watch out for this particular number.

Got a call earlier today, I usually block loads of scam numbers so i actually answered this one. Some guy with an Asian accent said he was from Telephone Preference, but I told him straight up it’s a scam and ended the call. Why do these scammers get to use numbers that look real? I have received approximately five phone calls over the past few days from individuals claiming to be from the telephone preference service. They have inquired about my surname. I must admit, I haven't been particularly polite as I promptly end the call. I am inclined to believe that this might be a scam, as far as I know, signing up for the telephone preference service is free of charge.

This number's been ringing me a few times now. After I told them to get lost, they started calling just to annoy me. What they don’t get is I only keep the phone because of the internet, hardly ever use it for calls. I only switch it on when I want to mess with these idiots! Got a phone call at me mum's place down in Somerset. The caller wanted to chat with her at first. Then they said they were from the TPS and wanted to offer some sort of upgrade, asking for my mum's address to confirm. It all sounded dodgy straight away so I just ended the call. I have been contacted three times by this specific phone number. The first two times, the caller abruptly ended the call without speaking. During the third call, I decided not to say anything and the caller eventually started talking. They claimed to be from a company that specializes in blocking unwanted calls. I suspect they wanted me to pay for their service. However, I politely declined their offer and promptly ended the call. By the way, these calls were made to my landline phone.

Someone called with a noticeable foreign accent saying they were from the telephone preference service. They already had my name and address and wanted me to confirm them. Then they kept pushing for the expiry date of my bank card, which I didn’t want to give. They said they only needed the expiry date, nothing else, but I kept refusing. Eventually, they thanked me and ended the call. Not sure if it was legit or a scam, but it definitely felt suspicious.

The TPS is free to join, and once you’re on the list, you don’t need to update or pay anything. I rang TPS to report it and they told me they know about these calls and are looking into it.
