6 yearsReceived a dodgy call purporting to be from the Financial Conduct Authority, pitching some sort of refund for bank charges. They asked whether I preferred the refund to be wired directly to my bank or sent via cheque. The chap’s name was supposedly Andrew Green. It was a silent call initially. When I tried to return the call using a different number, they refused to disclose their identity or the company they were with, then they abruptly ended the conversation. Quite suspicious!Financial Conduct AuthorityAndrew Green6 yearsI usually keep my number private, but just five days after shifting to my new place, I received a rather suspicious call from this number claiming I was owed money from the government. They had both my previous name and my new address, which was quite alarming. After reaching out to my phone service provider, I discovered that my old name was still linked to my account with BT and, for some reason, my number wasn’t as private as I’d thought. They've rectified it now, but it’s unsettling knowing my details were accessible and could potentially be sold off. It’s a bit of a worry, to say the least!BT6 yearsI've been receiving calls from this number and its numerous variations-it's becoming quite bothersome! It's particularly irritating that they keep coming in daily, often at the crack of dawn. Honestly, it's just relentless!6 yearsI’ve received three consecutive calls with nothing on the other end. Quite baffling!6 yearsI received a call purporting to be from a government agency, suggesting there was some financial matter awaiting me, and they encouraged me to ring a specific number (which I hastily opted not to pursue).6 yearsI spoke with a rather articulate chap who called on behalf of an agency concerning a refund. He mentioned pressing Button 1 for more help. I must say, it all feels like a dodgy scam. I’d recommend adding them to your BT 1572 junk list.Submit Your Own Report (020 7112 8917)
