I can only presume that these folks are engaged in data collection and resale, which is incredibly dodgy. I've fallen prey to similar tactics before, and if you entertain them even briefly, brace yourself for a flood of unwanted sales calls from both UK and international scammers, despite having signed up for the TPS. My advice would be to give them a piece of your mind, hang up promptly, and make sure to report them to Ofcom for a silent call, as well as the ICO for being an unwanted sales caller. Bear in mind, you can’t contact TPS about them unless you have the name of the caller.

We are quite distressed, as we have no affiliation with these individuals who have hijacked our identity.

Numerous complaints have been lodged with the Telephone Preference Service, notwithstanding the fact that we aren't the ones making these calls (many complainants have noted the number from above in their reports).

Received a call from someone purporting to be from "Your voice counts." Inquired how they acquired my number and firmly stated that I wasn't interested in engaging with them again.
