These annoying calls from 02031487648 keep coming, always dead quiet on the other end - clearly those auto-diallers are firing off loads of numbers at once. I thought silent calls were banned now? I called the number back, worked out who it was, then contacted their main office to let them know I won’t tolerate these silent calls. I’m on the TPS list, so they had better not bother me again or I’ll have to report them and give them a right earful. I couldn’t care less if it’s some “research” they’re doing - don’t ring me unless you want to get shouted at. I’ve made it crystal clear I want my number taken off their database. I’m dead set on putting an end to these bloody nuisances.

They've rung me up three times now, and I have no idea why. I never gave them permission to bother me when I’m off work. I've nicely told them to stop calling, but if they do again, I’ll be telling them to get lost. By the way, everyone saying they’re alright must be working for these companies or something? Because honestly, if you’re defending this, you're just as annoying as the pushy sales folks. We all deserve to have our peace without constant pestering.

IFF is a genuine research organisation that carries out work for a range of government agencies. As part of their research role, they must follow GDPR rules and the Data Protection Act strictly. They simply cannot share any personal info with anyone except the client company they’re conducting research for. There’s no link whatsoever with third party firms or sales companies. It’s really frustrating that people don’t bother to do a bit of digging and see that their work is totally legitimate and secure. You can always visit the websites of the companies they’re calling on behalf of and verify their details on the MRS site. They’re spot on when it comes to sticking to the law and proper regulations. Hopefully, folks will become more aware of who they’re dealing with and understand how crucial feedback is for the public good in the UK.

It’s beyond frustrating that these IFF people keep calling, even though I’m on the TPS list. They’re just as intrusive as any sales call, so why aren’t they stuck to the same rules? I reached out through their ‘contact’ form tonight, after already telling them two weeks ago to stop bothering me, yet they kept ringing. I got a call from someone saying they were with the Department for Work and Pensions, asking for someone else in my home. I handed over the phone after telling them who answered. After about 30 minutes of loads of questions, the caller finally admitted they were actually from IFF. It’s wrong for them to pretend to be the DWP like that. Honestly, it’s shocking the government hires this firm - that cash could definitely be spent on something more worthwhile. Proper disgrace.

Hey all, just wanted to share something from my experience in telecom. If you’re getting repeated cold calls or those weird silent rings where you answer and no one’s there, OFCOM really needs to hear about it. You can register your phone numbers on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) website for both mobiles and landlines, which should stop most organisations from ringing you up trying to sell stuff. Some will pretend they’re just doing a survey to get round it, but if you tell them you’re on the TPS, they’re supposed to say sorry and take you off their list right away. Don’t be shy about reporting any dodgy callers to TPS or OFCOM - the more complaints they get, the better chance there is those annoyances get shut down. Just thought it might be useful for anyone dealing with these calls!
