I got a call on my mobile saying my smart meter had to be replaced, but they kept insisting on my account number and a copy of my bill, which seemed odd since they should already have that info. The bloke sounded african, quite pushy and not very polite, he never said which company he was calling from, just kept saying I’m owed loads of money from a claim last year. I told him if he was real, why could I hear other people talking in the background like scammers usually do. He should’ve given me the company name and info right away if it was legit. Best to block and stay clear, they’re pretty aggressive.

Got a call from someone saying they were my “energy provider” but not from any big companies like British Gas or Eon. Got a call from someone claiming to be Opus Energy, saying there was an issue with our meter reader. They had all our details like address, name, postcode, and even knew who supplies our energy, which was pretty shocking. I told them to ring back on Monday 'cause I was nearly convinced, but they rang again within 5 minutes. It was a guy with a noticeable Indian accent, speaking decent English but still quite clear. The more I asked, the more irritated he sounded. I told him to send a letter if it was genuine, and he just hung up. BEWARE folks.

A bloke with an Indian accent rang from some "UK energy services" claiming to speak to the business owner. He said my energy supplier had been overcharging me for electricity, saying I wasn’t using as many KwH as my current bill showed, based on some national grid info they had. He claimed I’d made a complaint about them - which I hadn’t - and then passed me on to a ‘manager’. This manager mentioned someone called Rishan and said my address (which was spot on) was a pet shop! He asked for my name, but I didn’t give it. When I asked for my AVRO account number, he gave me an old, unused number. I told him it was a scam and he just hung up.

My old neighbour has received calls from this number about 6 times now. The person on the other end sounds like they might be Indian or Pakistani. They've been calling on and off for around two years.

Every now and then they phone pretending to be from EOn, then it might be British Gas, or some other companies not even related to energy. Either way, it’s definitely a scam.

Got a call about my business and current supplier, they were trying to set up my account but then started saying I had a really nice and attractive voice. They asked for my mobile number, home address, loads of personal stuff and even said 'you haven't met me yet'. I ended up reporting them to the cops for harassment. Best not to answer if this number rings you. They’re not just energy scammers, they seem like proper creeps too.

They kept ringing me like 20 times a day, saying they were from some conduct authority. Then told me I'd be in trouble if I didn’t hand over my bank info. Got really nasty when I refused. Proper scary stuff.

Got a call from some energy firm pretending to owe me money and asking for my bank info. Told them no way, asked them to send the details by post and refund the cash straight to the bank already linked with my energy account. They just ended the call after that.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Yu Energy. They said their main office is in Nottingham, but the phone number showed up as London - I’m pretty sure it was a spoofed number. Very fishy.
