This number has been ringing me non-stop. When I picked up once, a guy with a foreign accent, maybe Indian or Chinese, said he was representing UK Habit Lifestyle. He then asked me to verify my address and postcode. I mentioned I’m registered with the TPS and don’t want any more calls. Without a word of apology or even a goodbye, he just hung up on me. Despite that, the calls continue, and when I answer, all I get is silence. Next time someone calls and I've got a moment, I’m thinking of feeding them a load of nonsense just to waste their time!

Honestly, the best way to deal with these annoying calls is just to let your answerphone pick up. If you don’t reply, they usually give up after a while. If you feel you have to respond, try and catch the caller’s name and the business they claim to be from, then report them for harassment. But be warned, once you pick up, it’s like you’ve fallen into their trap - they’ll just keep ringing you again and again. Most phone providers have free call-blocking options, use them! For calls from abroad, just don’t answer unless it’s something important. My holiday company is overseas, so it can be tricky, but we arrange specific times to chat and it works fine. Also, using Skype is great because it’s free and you get to see the person you’re talking to, so maybe give that a try too!

Got a call just now, 10:25 on 17/10/2014, from a bloke called David with a noticeable Eastern accent. He claimed I might get an 80% saving on my fuel bills and said I could save a grand. I was a bit wary, so I kept the chat going a bit but wasn’t really paying full attention. In the end, I thanked him for calling, told him I wasn’t quite sure what he was on about, and then I ended the call.

On 15th October, I got two calls from them at 5.29 pm. The first one just dropped without a word, the next time I didn’t even wait and hit “Block This Call” straight away using my call blocker. No more bother from them now!

Theres a clear trend with the folks using this number and a couple hundred others. Since I work with emergency services, I tipped off the coppers and they’re actually taking action to track down these annoying callers. Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from some “solicitors” firm, saying I’d had an accident in the past 3 years. I told her the only accident I’d had was queuing for the loo, not wasting time on dodgy calls like hers, and asked her to remove my number. If they ring back, I’m tempted to play along without sharing any details, just to get their client’s address and then send them a bill for my trouble. This bloke rang me on 16/10/14 claiming I’d been in some kind of accident. That’s not true at all. He kept pushing the same story but I kept telling him no accident happened. He just wouldn’t listen or quit. I asked him nicely to remove my details from their records, but he flat out refused. Just got one of those dodgy calls from a bloke pretending to be from "Windows tech support," saying there’s loads of problems with my computer. They want to get you to download some dodgy software that can nick your bank info and private stuff! This bloke kept going on, said his name was Moose and claimed he was ringing from India - like we’re daft enough to fall for that. It’s proper criminal the way they’re doing this now. Lately, we've noticed a peculiar number flashing on our caller ID when our family ring us from Australia. It’s a new occurrence, and we're utterly baffled by it. I've been inundated with these irritating calls, at least two or three a week, and I've just started getting them on my mobile as well - all about PPI. Honestly, are they completely daft? Do they honestly believe I'll fiddle around with my computers just because some chaps claim they're from Microsoft? What universe are they living in? To add to my frustration, I got a call saying I'd been involved in a minor car accident. When I quizzed him on the details, he just ignored the question and resorted to some rather foul language instead, which really didn’t sit well with me. After letting him drone on, I felt compelled to inform him that if he was indeed representing Microsoft or a law firm, he ought to be dismissed for his appalling approach to customer interaction. Then I decided to give him a taste of my own vocabulary and kept pressing for his actual name, wondering if perhaps he was too embarrassed to share it. Suffice it to say, he didn’t hang around for long. It really is a disgrace that companies like BT don’t vet who they're selling their numbers to!

I received a phone call this afternoon around half one from a woman with a foreign accent. She claimed to represent "Global Telecom" and was inquiring whether we were interested in low-cost international call options.

Received a call today from someone at "CCS" about an accident I supposedly experienced three years back. They seemed a bit confused and were asking me to verify some details. I mentioned that it was actually vandalism that caused a right mess at the rear of my vehicle and that I'm presently without a permanent residence. Curiously, they hung up rather quickly after that! I encourage anyone who gets similar calls to waste a bit of their time - it’s the least they deserve.

My work mobile gets a call from them almost every day. I’ve set it to automatically divert straight to the office fax machine now. Hopefully, they find the screechy noise when it picks up entertaining.

They claimed I’d either completed a survey or called someone about an accident in the past three years, which is totally untrue. I told them I’d prefer to speak with a manager, but naturally, they said no one was free. Still, I said I’d wait. The person just kept going on, asking again and again if I’d had any accidents recently, and saying things like “I can arrange for a manager to ring you back” and so on. Seriously, don’t give them any info!

I’ve noticed that previous gripes relate to the whole computer virus con. This number keeps pestering me regarding some supposed accident. It appears to be an outfit of individuals holed up in a basement, systematically dialling through a roster of phone numbers, fishing for unsuspecting folks to swindle and lure into dodgy insurance claims. Quite frankly, they seem to be a lot of chancers who ought to have their precious time squandered.

Strange thing is, they first rang me on my old phone number, then when I changed it, they somehow found the new one and called again. Whenever they ring, there’s either silence or I can hear people mumbling among themselves. Feels like they have a huge list of numbers they’re just dialing randomly cos I seriously can't figure out how they got hold of my current number.

Whenever a mate rings me from Jamaica, this strange number shows up instead of the normal Jamaican one. I’m pretty sure it’s just some glitch with the phone system. Luckily, I always recognise the voice, so I pick up every time without a second thought.

Got a call from some guy asking if I owned a laptop, then started chatting about Windows 7. I said I just use my work laptop and have all the IT support sorted. He wasn’t put off and next asked if I ever wrote emails! I hung up, then looked up the number and yep, it was one of those scams, just as I suspected.

Today I got a call from this number, and at first all I could hear was loads of crackling and some weird buzzing noises. Then suddenly this robotic female voice said "goodbye" and just ended the call. Very strange!

On Thursday 3rd July 2014 at about 10:18, I got a call on my mobile, which is definitely registered. The caller said he was Chris from injury claims services and somehow he knew my name. I didn’t give anything away and just hung up. I tried to ring the number back but all I got was a busy tone over and over. To test, I called my mates and it was fine every time. I did this a few times - same thing, busy when calling that number but normal with friends. Seems like their system block incoming calls causing a busy signal. Honestly, when is the government going to step up and do something about these annoying calls? It’s always scammers or fraudsters. Then you've got immigrants getting freebies from the state, maybe even from taxpayers, scoring things like cars supposedly to help them find work here. Seriously, what's the deal with that? Getting free cash at our expense while the scammers keep trying their luck and probably succeeding now and then!

Weird - had a call from insurance today, then BT the day before, these lot seem so dodgy. I bet they’re trying to sweet talk you into giving away your personal info so they can pretend to be you and carry out fraud - really scary stuff! Does anyone even look into this kinda thing? I reckon the police only step in if you’ve lost a load of cash first.
