I got a call from a bloke speaking with an Eastern European accent pushing me to put money into Bitcoin, saying I'd already tried investing. When I explained I'd lost my job and didn’t have any funds, he just told me to borrow cash and quit whining like a kid.

I got a call at the office on the landline from a woman claiming to be with BT, saying there was an issue with the internet that needed paying to fix. Thing is, we don’t have internet there at all. She then insisted on taking over my mobile and somehow managed to do it! I never gave her my mobile number or email, but I could hear strange noises like clicking, and then my phone stopped working. I’m completely baffled how that happened since I didn’t hand over any details, click on any links, or log into anything - I knew it was a dodgy call from the start.

I got a call from an asian woman saying there was some problem with my internet. I asked for the company's number and looked it up on google while still talking to her. When I said it showed a scam alert, she just told me I was making stuff up. I told her to find a real job instead of trying to trick people.

Received a call claiming to be from BT or Openreach about an internet issue. They asked me to look at my router and when I said the light wasn’t blinking, they said everything was sorted. I wanted to be sure, so I asked for their ID and a contact number to verify. I rang 02070975961 and someone picked up saying it was BT, but there was no usual BT greeting or welcome message, which seemed a bit odd.

A mate of mine had a dodgy call from someone saying they were from Microsoft, and after she got tricked, this number appeared on her computer labelled as BT support, which is odd because she's actually with TalkTalk. They even managed to reset her Microsoft password, giving them the keys to all her saved passwords on Edge. Proper warning to everyone - watch out for these scams!

Got a call from someone called Vishram who said he was ringing from BT Open Reach. He wanted to talk to someone who wasn’t me, then asked if I was related to that person. I said he had the wrong number and I couldn’t chat right now. He kept pushing, asking why not. When I pressed him about the number he called from - 020 7097 5961 - he just ended the call. This was the fourth dodgy call I’ve had in just two days. Definitely a scam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, using the number 02070975961. They told me there was a problem with our broadband and offered to fix it remotely. Thinking it was legit, I let them connect but it turned out to be a scam. They then tried to charge me for the ‘repair’. I refused to pay and disconnected the internet straight away. Even so, the scammer managed to cause quite a bit of harm to my files. I had to get my PC professionally cleaned and also informed anyone whose information might have been compromised. Be warned!

Two calls popped up this morning from a bloke claiming to be Kevin Khuska with an ID like 2589, saying he was from the BT Campus down at Thames Valley Park Reading (postcode RG6 1WG). The number he dialled from was 0207 097 5961. I begun following instructions on my laptop at first, but then told him I wanted to ring back to confirm he was legit. I looked up the number online and got suspicious, so I shut my computer off straight away. Fingers crossed I didn’t hand over anything that could be used to get into my system. I’m thinking of contacting the bank’s fraud team just in case.

Yeah, total scam vibes here. My landline barely gets used, maybe three folks have the number, yet it rung non-stop so I finally picked up. This lady with an Asian accent said she was from BT, talking about issues with my broadband and wanted to check my internet speed - telling me I needed a laptop for it (obvious red flag). I said I’d ring back later and she gave me this number. When I rang the real BT on their official 0800 line, they said it definitely wasn’t them. Definitely just another phone scam.

I got a call today from someone claiming to be BT saying there were security problems or faults with my line recently. They kept pushing me to check the lights on my hub right away and tell them what was flashing. I told them I was a bit suspicious and asked for proof they were actually from BT. They gave me a name, an employee ID, and a number to call back on - something like O2O70975961. The call actually came from 01753 889162. Got a call today from this number claiming to be from BT. Funny thing is, a couple of days ago I got another call saying they were from Openreach. This bloke with a thick Asian accent said he was ‘Nick Anderson’ from BT internet, saying there was an issue with my internet. When I told him I didn’t believe him and suspected a scam, he gave me a number to ring to check if he was legit. He also mentioned 0800 917 0120 as another number to call, but that number's too short for a proper BT customer service line and when I tried it, no one answered. Got a call from this number earlier. The person claimed there was some issue with my BT internet. They asked me to test my download speed. I had a very similar call, someone saying they were from BTOpenReach and that my router had some kind of issue. They insisted Virgin Media, which is my provider, actually uses BT Openreach, which I know isn't right. I pretended to go along with it but told them I wanted to check it wasn't a con. Somebody gave me this number to call, supposedly to verify if a scammer was really from BT’s hacking unit. I did a quick Google search and couldn’t find any info on it. Got a call from someone saying they were from BT’s hacking team. They told me my phone line was compromised and threatened to shut it down unless I gave them remote access to put in some anti-hacking software. After they were done, my laptop was completely messed up and £1800 had mysteriously vanished from my credit card. They gave me a number to call to verify if they really worked for BT, but when I looked that number up a couple of days ago, there was no record or warnings about it at all.
