Got a call from someone named Jason, sounded Scottish, saying he was from NatWest fraud team. He asked if I’d been purchasing plane tickets, then claimed my bank account had been compromised. Definitely a scam.

Received a phone call earlier from a bloke named Jason claiming he was ringing on behalf of Visa. I told him straight up I don’t own a Visa card, which is true. Then he asked if I wanted it cancelled, but I just told him to leave me alone and hung up quickly. It’s definitely a scam, so watch out!

Got a call a few hours back from someone claiming to be from the bank’s fraud team. They said there was strange activity on my account. The guys gave their names as Jason and Andrew Bell, which sounded pretty convincing at first. They told me to head to my bank and take out a big chunk of money to keep it secure. Something didn’t feel right, so I rang up the actual fraud division straight away.

Beware of this number, it’s linked to a scammer. They claimed our card had been used at a Waitrose in Manchester and were fishing for the victim’s card info. They even told them not to mention it to friends, family or the bank. Very suspicious!

Today my mum got a call from some bloke named Jason pretending to be from her bank’s VISA team. He tried to tell her that her card had been used at a Waitrose in Manchester. When she asked which card they were talking about, he said he couldn’t give out those details. My mum stayed calm and asked for his full name and phone number, saying she’d ring back. Afterwards, she phoned her bank directly and they confirmed it was definitely a scam.

Got a call in the early afternoon from a bloke named Jason, sounded like he was from somewhere in west central Scotland. He claimed to be calling on behalf of the Bank of Scotland, but I don’t actually have any current dealings with them.

Got a call claiming my debit card was just used at Waitrose in Manchester. My wife answered first, but I ended up taking the phone. The bloke on the other end suddenly started shouting, calling my wife some really rude stuff. Proper scam, and totally disrespectful too.

Got a call from a bloke with a gentle Scottish voice, claiming to be from Nationwide’s fraud department. He said there’d been an attempt to buy flight tickets to Nigeria using my card. Then he asked about my bank accounts and if the balance was over the £85,000 FSA protection limit. He mentioned he wanted to bring in a senior fraud advisor and said he’d ring back. I looked up the number and rang the actual Nationwide fraud team myself - they confirmed it was a scam and no dodgy transactions were found. Ended up blocking the number straight away!

Got a call from this number earlier, and the guy asked for my mum by her first name. When I told him to speak to me instead, he said my mum told him not to talk to her family. He wouldn’t say who he was or where he was calling from. I gave the phone to my mum, she’s 93, and when she asked who it was, the man - a softly spoken bloke with a Scottish accent - just hung up. Since mum’s Scottish too, I was a bit worried it might be something about a friend or family member, but after reading the reviews here, I decided to block the number at once.

Someone rang me claiming to be Jason from the Visa Fraud Department. He said my debit card had been used to buy plane tickets to Nigeria from Manchester. He even knew my name and address! He asked for my bank’s sort code and I gave it to him. But when he wanted my account number, I refused. Then he said he couldn’t stop the card and that more charges could happen. I told him I’d sort it out at my bank and went there straight away. The bank told me Visa never contacts customers directly about fraud and that it was a phishing scam.

A softly spoken guy with a Scottish accent called me, saying he was from Visa Debit. He asked for my address and full name, but I didn’t give anything away. He claimed my card had just been used at Manchester Airport to buy a flight to Nigeria. When I asked for more info, he said he couldn’t share details for security, but then mentioned it was a Lloyds card. I told him it wasn’t my card and he ended the call. Pretty clear it was a scam. The number showed as 0207 097 5315.

Got a call claiming to be from Visa checking on some card purchases I supposedly made earlier today. I told them I don’t chat about stuff like that on the phone and ended the call. Then they rang back like four times right after. In the end, I just blocked the number.

Got a call from someone who said they were from Lloyds Bank’s Visa Fraud team about some dodgy activity on my card. They sounded pretty convincing and seemed to know quite a bit, but I felt like they were just trying to dig up loads of personal info. Honestly, seemed a bit off to me.
