2 yearsJust like someone else here said, I got this warning on my screen telling me not to turn off my computer or it would get infected and I should ring Microsoft straight away on 0207 0972 400. I called the number and the bloke who picked up had a kid making noise in the background. He said he had to get into my computer to sort it out. I ended up hanging up right away. Totally a scam, do not trust it!Microsoft2 yearsI was just using my laptop and suddenly got a pop-up saying I shouldn’t turn it off or my system would get infected. It told me to call Microsoft right away on 02070972400. I phoned the number and the person on the line claimed to be from Microsoft, but it all felt so dodgy. Total scam, really. I turned my laptop off anyway, turned it on later, and everything seemed fine. Wouldn’t trust that call for a second.Microsoft2 yearsMy mum clicked on a link from the MSN site and out of nowhere, this number popped up on her screen. She rang it and a guy answered, saying he was from Microsoft Windows support. He wanted a code that had shown up on the screen, so she read it out. Nothing seemed to happen to the computer though. I told her to reboot the PC and just hang up on the guy. Thankfully, that seemed to sort everything out in the end.MSNMicrosoftSubmit Your Own Report (020 7097 2400)
