Got a call on my mobile when I was travelling on a bus. An automated woman’s voice said the typical "Hello, this is Mary." Right away I knew it was one of those car accident scam calls and just ended the call. Thing is, I don’t even have a car or drive, so I guess they’re just calling out numbers at random and my number definitely isn’t linked to any car-related stuff.

Crash scam, totally obvious bot picking up on what you say at first. If you say yes to everything, they put you through to an actual person, sounded like an Indian accent. I kept chatting with the bloke on the phone as long as I could, making up rubbish answers just for a laugh. Proper scam.

This is a SCAM, they’re using bogus numbers to ring people. I think it’s connected to the internet somehow. I’ve seen three reports of these calls today already. I have an older, poorly relative with me and I honestly thought it was the nurse on the phone. It’s so annoying. They even tried some fake story about a car crash payout - I don’t even have a car! Proper frustrating! GRRRR
