From now on, I’m steering clear of phone cards. Watch out, folks!

I’ve got a Post Office UK and international phone card that offers this exact prefix number. I dialled using the landline, entering the prefix, then the PIN on the card, and finally the New Zealand number I wanted to call - the same one I’ve contacted before with a Post Office card. They mentioned I had a certain number of minutes included on the call. Even though the card still has credit left, I noticed an extra charge on my landline bill, which I didn’t expect since the card terms suggest no additional line charges, or just a small connection fee. This extra cost was over £2, far more than I thought was fair. I suspect someone might be exploiting this prefix as part of a scam now. Very frustrating!
