Honestly, I don’t get why some folks get so mad about this, it’s a proper company and they’re just ringing the contact number they have. This is GoDaddy ringing. Normally, it’s just a polite reminder that a domain you own is about to run out. They did email me beforehand to let me know, and I was aware since I had turned off automatic renewal on the domains. So, the call wasn’t really required. Still, it’s a company I deal with, and they’re just checking if I’m aware of the expiry. Not really annoying or pushy. I just told them “yeah, that’s fine” and they were happy with that.

I keep gettin calls from GoDaddy’s sales folks. If you wanna stop it, go into your GoDaddy account, head over to contact preferences. There’s an option there about phone calls. Just untick the box that says something like “Our award-winning team will keep you updated on renewals, explain recent purchases, and help you make the most of your products.” Then save the changes, and hopefully, you’ll get some peace.

I got a call out of the blue from GoDaddy, and after checking, I’m pretty sure it really was them. They asked for my postcode and ended up upgrading my account without charging me a penny. I also got some proper emails afterwards to confirm everything.
