This isn’t the first time I’ve been plagued by calls from this number - it happens regularly. Feeling like I’m being harassed, I’ve reported it to TPS, OFCOM, and the Information Commissioner’s Office. Honestly, I’m not holding my breath that any of these so-called watchdogs will take action, but I had to give it a shot. And trust me, calling them “regulators” is me being extremely generous - I’ve got a few choice words I'd rather use instead!

But we’ve gone ex-directory and opted out of the public electoral list, so that smelt fishy right away. She went on about sending me indirect mail and needing to tailor it to my preferences. I told her I didn’t want any mail at all, but she insisted it would be matched to what I liked. I repeated firmly that no mail was my preference. Then she pushed forward with her first question, asking for my age. I refused to say, but she said she had to confirm I was over 18. Bit daft, seeing as if they got my info from the electoral roll, they should know already, right? I said I was hanging up, but she threatened “we’ll call again!” That genuinely creeped me out so I’ve blocked the number now.

I get calls from this number pretty much every day, sometimes even up to four calls in one day. I just don’t answer because I’ve got caller ID and don’t pick up unless I know who it is. I’m guessing they’ll stop if they don’t get an answer eventually. If it was something urgent, they’d leave a voicemail, but they never do. What’s weird is that I also get calls from the same number but with an extra three digits at the start, like 034. I just block those as well.

Got a phone call around 8pm on 10/06/2014 from someone saying they were with some London research something-or-other, but their accent was so strong I couldn't catch most of what they said.
