I just had a phone call from this number, and they claimed I was involved in an accident not too long ago, wanting to discuss some sort of compensation with me. Instantly, I thought, hold on, I've never even owned a car! It was clear as day that it was a con. Did the sensible thing and recorded the whole conversation for future reference.

Hello! I've just had a call from this number, which I didn’t recognise, so I opted not to pick up. It’s likely a scam or some sort of sales pitch, I'd say. If it were urgent, surely they’d try to ring me again, drop a message, or perhaps send a text. Without a doubt, I’m going to block this number!

What a right faff this is! It’s a proper con, though a rather cunning one at that. It all kicks off with a rather clever pre-recorded voice that seems to pick up on your responses and cleverly engages with some of your queries. Eventually, you find yourself speaking to an actual human in a call centre, but the moment you hit them with a sensible question, they get rather flustered and swiftly put the phone down on you. Such dodgy tactics!
